Neil Young To Perform For Flea’s Silverlake Conservatory Of Music

Red Hot Chili Peppers founder and bass player Flea has announced that Neil Young will perform at a benefit for his music school the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

Flea and Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis will host the event in October 30 in Silverlake. Proceeds from the evening will go to a permanent facility for the school and expand the scholarship program.

“Going into our 13th year of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, flourishing with 700 students as a non-profit community music school, I could not be more grateful for all the people who have helped us out along the way,” said founder Flea in a statement. “Having one of my favorite musicians Neil Young perform to help out the school is the greatest blessing! This is gonna be the funnest fundraiser ever! All of us working together, making L.A. a better city, and educating the kids! Yay!”

The fundraiser will also include a charity auction from works by Tim Armstrong, Cecily Brown, Justin Bua, Thomas Campbell, Suzanne Chorna, Autumn de Wilde, Jerry de Wilde, Shepard Fairey, Francesca Gabbiani, Kim Gottlieb Walker (Courtesy of KM Fine), Peter Harper, Damien Hirst, Heather L. Johnson, Mike Kelley and Douglas Kirkland, Dana Louise Kirkpatrick, Robert Levine, John Lurie, Matt Maust, Matthew Monahan, Michael Muller, David Mushegain, Raymond Pettibon, RETNA, Ed Ruscha, Robert Russell, Lara Schnitger, Shelter Serra, Gus Van Sant, Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Sage Vaughn, Robert Williams, Kiino Villand, Robert Zuckerman, and more.

Tickets for the event are $2000 per guest or a table of 10 for $25000.
