Coachella was an AusFest this weekend with eight Australian and New Zealand acts performing at the music festival in the California desert.

AC/DC, Tame Impala, Vance Joy, Kimbra, Angus & Julia Stone, Chet Faker, Peking Duk, Alison Wonderland and Conrad Sewell playing live for at America’s biggest music festival.

AC/DC headlined the Friday night with Tame Impala on just before them. Angus & Julia Stone had a late afternoon slot, and Melbourne based New Zealand singer Kimbra played right before the Stones. Canberra’s Peking Duk played early afternoon on the Sahara stage.

On Saturday afternoon Melbourne’s Chet Faker played the outdoor theatre while Sydney’s Alison Wonderland performed on the Sahara stage.

On Sunday Melbourne’s Vance Joy sang from the Mojave stage while Brisbane’s Conrad Sewell performed with Kygo earlier in the day.

The Australian invasion of the Coachella festival was the greatest ever and a record for the event.

Coachella started in 2001. Australian and New Zealand acts who have previously played the festival include Lorde, Gotye, Tame Impala, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun, Wolfmother, Crowded House, Architecture in Helsinki, Midnight Juggernauts, ohn Butler Trio and The Temper Trap.
