Josh Devine, drummer, singer, and songwriter, grew up in the coastal town of Bournemouth, England and later moved to central England, otherwise known as The Midlands.

His father was in an 80’s rock band called “Seven,” giving him an early start with musical interests. He began playing the drums at three years old and soon grew up to perform live with the world’s biggest boy band sensation “One Direction.”

After fives years of traveling and touring the world, Zayn Malik, former singer of One Direction, split from the group and the band went on hiatus. Devine then worked on his solo artist career and collaborated with fellow English musician, Ollie Green, to collaborate on their own EP, “Through the Fire.” Rather than taking a break from music completely, he wanted to grow as a musician as well as give back to the community in any way he can.

Devine released his first video today for the documentary series, “The Hardest Places.” In the spring of 2016, he linked up with Jeff Gilbert, former drummer for the band “Kutless,” and host of “The Hardest Places” campaign for Food For the Hungry – a non-profit organization that has been serving the poor globally since 1971. Gilbert launched the campaign and decided to partner up with Devine, who had been sponsoring a child by the name of Evaride in Africa and had been wanting to be more involved with with F4TH.

In the video, Devine takes a trip with Gilbert to Rwanda and visits the child he had been sponsoring. It is very emotional and humbling to watch Devine give back for an amazing cause on his travels, but we won’t spoil it for you. Check out what Devine has been up to in the video!
