Ozzy Osbourne has said that there’s a “very very strong possibility” that a full Black Sabbath reunion will happen.

Ozzy was promoting his new book, Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy – taken from his Rolling Stone health and sex advice advice columns – and was inevitably asked about the constant rumours of a proper Sabbath reunion with an album.

He told Billboard, “Yes, it’s a very, very strong possibility. It’s in the very early stages, so we haven’t recorded anything yet. If it works out, it’ll work out. If it doesn’t, I’ll keep doing my thing.”

It’s a turnaround from guitarist Tony Iommi’s comments earlier in the year when he publicly chastened a journalist who misquoted him “looking forward” to a new Sabbath album.

The original members performed together in 1997 and the Reunion live album from that feature two new studio tracks – ‘Psycho Man’ and ‘Selling My Soul’ – but that’s the first music from the original line-up since 1978’s Never Say Die!

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
