Music legend Paul Anka will perform his first Australian shows in 40 years in March, 2014.
The now 72-year old Anka was one of the world’s biggest popstars of the 50s and 60s with hits like ‘Put Your Head On My Shoulder’, ‘Diana’ and ‘Lonely Boy’. His other major hit was
Anka wrote the theme for The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Tom Jones’ hit ‘She’s A Lady’ and was the lyrics for Frank Sinatra’s signature song ‘My Way’.
Paul Anka also wrote with Michael Jackson. In 1983, they co-wrote the unreleased song ‘I Never Heard’ which was retitled and officially released in 2009 as ‘This Is It’.
Paul Anka will perform in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. The Melbourne date will be March 5 at Hamer Hall. The Sydney and Gold Coast dates are yet-to-be announced.
