Phil Collins To Tour Again

A number of times over the last couple of years, it looked like Phil Collins was returning to the concert stage with a full-fledged show, only to disappoint with three or four songs.

Phil Collins last tour ended on July 1, 2010, when he was out playing classic soul music from his album Goin’ Back. Previously, he had done the 2007 Genesis reunion and hadn’t played a full set of his own solo material since November 24, 2005, in Prague, the Czech Republic for the Finally, the First Farewell Tour.

That’s why it is such a big deal that Phil announced a new set of solo dates on Monday. Titled “Not Dead Yet Live!”, the tour currently has only five dates in London, two in Koln and two in Paris.

Collins said of the shows “I thought I would retire quietly. But thanks to the fans, my family and support from some extraordinary artists I have rediscovered my passion for music and performing. It’s time to do it all again and I’m excited. It just feels right.”

Don’t expect to see him behind the drums. He has suffered severe nerve damage from years of playing and doesn’t think he would be able to do it again although he may take on some drums for In the Air Tonight.
