Phil Spector has filed for divorce from his wife, Rachelle Short, claiming that she is wildly spending his fortune.

The iconic producer, who is serving nineteen years in jail for the killing of Lana Clarkson, filed from prison after finding out that Short had purchased such extravagances as a $350,000 plane, an Aston Martin, a Jaguar and was in the process of buying a jet. In addition, according to TMZ, she has also had plastic surgery and bought two homes for her mother.

In his court filing, he is also asking that his daughter control his fortune until his release which will not happen before 2028 when he will be 88 years old. Spector is currently 76.

Short is Spector’s third wife. He was married to Annette Merar, a member of his group The Spectors Three followed by Veronica Bennett (a.k.a. Ronnie Spector) from 1968 to 1974. He married Short while in jail awaiting trial in the Clarkson murder. Short was 26 at the time.

Phil Spector is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and produced such iconic records as Be My Baby and Baby I Love You by the Ronnettes, He’s a Rebel and Then He Kissed Me for the Crystals, River Deep, Mountain High for Ike and Tina Turner and You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling for the Righteous Brothers.
