Tickets were $250 (although those that waited until the day of the show paid as low as $50) and what the fans got for their money was a little over 1-1/2 hours of mostly new music.

Prince opened his west coast tour on Monday night with two shows at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, giving the majority of fans little of what they want. While recent shows have been laden with hits, Monday’s had only had two, Let’s Go Crazy, in a slowed down tempo, and I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man. The rest of the show was a mix of new music with his band 3rd Eye Girl, covers, deep cuts and even an instrumental from one of his new band’s solo albums.
