When Robert Plant is not being former Led Zeppelin Rock God he is Planty from the Kidderminister Football Club.

Robert Plant now lives back in Shatterford, near Kidderminister and at age 69, once a week, plays football with the local club.

Robert would normally be found on the football field around 7pm but on October 11 had to work promotional duties for his new album ‘Carry Fire’ over at the BBC. The One Show took advantage of Planty’s absence and sent roving report Joe Crowley out to interview his team mates.

According to Crowley, “I don’t like cooked apple. I don’t know why, that’s just how it is”. We can only assume that is some strange not so obvious Led Zep reference unlike his more fluent references to ‘Dazed and Confused’, ‘Good Times Bad Times’, ‘Ramble On’, ‘Bring It On Home’, ‘The Rover’ and ‘Trampled Under Foot’.

Later in the interview Robert talked about his new album ‘Carry Fire’ and performed the new song ‘The May Queen’, which he says he not a Led Zeppelin reference (to ‘Stairway To Heaven’) but just a traditional reference to start of the British summer in May.

Robert Plant will perform at Bluesfest in Australia in 2018.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
