Sebadoh Release Ninth Album, Next Australia

by Paul Cashmere on November 15, 2019

in News

2019 saw the release of Sebadoh’s first studio album in six year and ninth in 30 years. For 2020 they are planning an Australian tour.

The current line-up is founding member Lou Barlow, near-original member Jason Loewenstein and the more recent Bob D’Amico, who previously did time with The Firey Furnaces.

The new album ‘Act Surprised’ features songs from all three members by all written individually.

“In the past,” says Barlow, “we would write in the studio and the songs would develop on the road.“ This time, we did some rehearsals a few weeks before recording,” adds Loewenstein, “which we almost never do. So we got a chance to not use the first take and took time to finesse things, which we also don’t usually do, so that was a good step.”
