Spandau Ballet will perform at the Lou Reed tribute show at SXSW in Austin, Texas next week.
Lou Reed was the keynote speaker at SXSW in 2008. He died on October 27, 2013.
SXSW will pay tribute to Lou Reed on Friday, March 14 with a show hosted by Richard Barone and Alejandro Escovedo and featuring The Baseball Project, Black Lips, Bobby Bare Jr, BP Fallon & The bandits, Cheetah Chrome, Candy Lee Berryhill, The Fauntleroys, Garland Jeffreys, Jesse Malin, Louise Goffin, Sharon Needles, Spandau Ballet, Suzanne Vega and Wayne Kramer.
Spandau Ballet will be at SXSW for the world premiere of their film ‘Soul Boys of the Western World’ on March 12. Later that night Spandau Ballet will also stage their first performance in America in nearly three decades in Austin’s legendary Vulcan Gas Company.
