The ABC will axe the new production of Spicks and Specks because it is not impacting with the audience.

The original Spicks and Specks ran for seven years with host Adam Hills up until 2011 and was dusted off for a second life with host Josh Earl and team captains Ella Hooper and Adam Richard this year.

The show has been in continual decline on the ABC with the most recent show dropping to 331,000 viewers nationally.

“We believe this year’s Spicks [and Specks] was every bit as entertaining as its long-running predecessor, but we sadly accept that it hasn’t resonated with viewers to the degree we had hoped,” Brendan Dahill of the ABC announced in a statement.

Spicks and Specks has been commissioned for 26 episodes. It will disappear from its timeslot after episode 20. The final six episodes will be scheduled later in the year.
