Steve Lucas has rounded up Doug Falconer of Hunters & Collectors and Kim Volkman of Love Addicts for a brand new X line-up to celebrate 40 years since the start of the band.

X formed in Sydney in 1977 with Lucas and band featuring Ian Rilen, Ian Krahe and Steve Cafiero. Krahe died before X recorded their first album ’X-Aspirations’ and from then on remained a three-piece.

‘Aspirations’ was recorded in 1979 and released in 1980. They split shortly after the release of the album.

When the band reformed in the mid-80s to record a second album ‘At Home With You’ drummer Cafiero was replaced by Cathy Green. Steve Cafiero has also since passed away.

A third album ‘X and More’ was released in 1989. The album was produced by Lobby Loyde.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
