Sting and Peter Gabriel Open Tour In Ohio #SETLIST

by Paul Cashmere on June 23, 2016

in Live,News

For the last two years, Sting has been on the road with Paul Simon in a show that mixed the music of the two artists over the course of an evening.

This year, Sting has a new touring partner in Peter Gabriel. Like the Simon tour, the evening sees the two artists not only doing their own hits but also songs from each other’s catalogs; however, this time around there are a number of songs where both artists took to the stage with one in support of the other.

For Gabriel, much of his evening was centered around the album So with five of the albums nine songs in the set list. Gabriel only took on one of Sting’s songs with If You Love Somebody Set Them Free.

Sting’s songs were a bit more wide ranging. He favored the music of his Police years, taking on seven of their songs compared to his solo years which were represented by five tracks. He also covered two Gabriel songs, Shock the Monkey and Kiss That Frog.

The tour opened on Tuesday night at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH.
