The queen is dead; long live the queen. Susan Boyle knocked Florence And The Machine off the number one spot this week (who knocked off Coldplay, who knocked off the long-reigning monarch Adele).

Michael Buble climbed to number two this week with his Christmas album, so it’s Florence at three, Adele at four, Coldplay five, and a number six debut for triplej’s seventh Like A Version covers compilation.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn soundtrack debuted at nine, Il Divo’s Wicked Game got in at eleven, and Powderfinger’s Fingerprints And Footprints double-album Best Of hit 15.

It’s a nice surprise for reunited modern rockers The Getaway Plan, whose Requiem debuted at number 17. And a surprise to everyone that US god-botherer Chris Tomlin debuted at number 19 with his two-year-old Glory In The Highest Christmas album.

There were more theme album debuts this week, with the singular Footprints Best Of from Powderfinger popping in at 23, the indie tribute to the Wiggles Rewiggled at 25, and Pink Floyd Best Of A Foot In The Door at 40.

A visit from UK folk-rapper Ed Sheeran shot his + album up from 47 to 21, Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits climbed from 40 to 24, Stevie Nicks’ visit got Fleetwood Mac’s Best Of back to 29, and the Kings Of Leon tour got Come Around Sunset back into the charts at 43.

Biggest drop was Megadeth’s Th1rt3en, which dropped from its serendipitous eponymous position to 41 in its second week.

LMFAO retain the number one single with ‘Sexy And I Know It’.
