Taylor Swift is continuing to spread her generosity by donating to a Louisiana food bank for flood relief.

Hard rains hit the state earlier this month (Aug16), with severe floods damaging over 60,000 homes and leaving at least 13 people dead, and shortly after the flooding occurred, Taylor announced she would be giving a generous donation of $1 million (£767,570) to the relief efforts.

Taylor Swift is continuing to support the struggling communities in the state with a new donation of $50,000 (£37,900) to the Greater Food Bank in Baton Rouge, according to the organisation’s officials.

On Thursday, bosses took to Twitter to post a photo of a group of volunteers in the food bank’s warehouse holding a sign which read: “Thanks Taylor!”

“Thanks @taylorswift13 for giving $50,000 to the #BRfoodbank!,” the tweet reads. “We may have lost a lot but we’re going to shake it off.”

Taylor has a soft spot for Louisiana, after starting the U.S. leg of her 1989 World Tour there last year (15), and in a statement announcing her first $1 million donation, she expressed her sorrow over the effects of the natural disaster.

“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home,” Taylor told the Associated Press. “The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking. I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
