Taylor Swift has received a staggering nine MTV EMA nominations.

The European Music Awards will take place on October 25 and the stars in with a chance of winning were announced today.

Bad Blood singer Taylor broke the record with her nine nods, with her name appearing in the Best Song, Best Pop, Best Female, Best Live Act, Best Video, Biggest Fans, Best Collaboration (with Kendrick Lamar), Best Live Act and Best Look categories.

Hot on her heels is Justin Bieber, who appears in five categories. It seems he’s well and truly conquered his bad boy ways and is back on top of his game with nods for Best Pop, Best Male, Best Collaboration (with Skrillex), Biggest Fans and Best Look.

Taylor and Justin face competition from 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande and One Direction in the Best Pop section.

Meanwhile Taylor’s Best Female crown could also go to Ellie Goulding, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna or Nicki Minaj.

Battling it out with Justin for Best Male are Taylor’s mate Ed Sheeran, Jason Derulo, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

Other musicians nominated include Coldplay in Best Rock, Lorde in Best Alternative and James Bay in Best New Act.

The awards will take place in Milan, Italy, on October 25.
