Taylor Swift took home the International Music Star gong at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards.

The Shake It Off star was just one of the famous faces honoured at the star-studded ceremony in London Wednesday night.

While the singer had performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in the English capital on Tuesday, she was not present for the awards ceremony Wednesday.

Taylor’s victory came after she opened up about her career triumphs, insisting her success has always stemmed from her mistakes.

“As much as I would really like to have saved myself heartache, embarrassment or gossip, I also know that my biggest mistakes have turned into my best lessons and sometimes my greatest career triumphs,” she told America’s ASOSmagazine, according to Just Jared.

“If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige,” Taylor noted.

Taylor’s close friend Lena Dunham was another of the honorees at the awards, taking home the prize for Writer.

Girls creator Lena released her debut book Not That Kind of Girl in September.

X-Men: Days of Future Past actress Ellen Page was named Inspiration at the awards, after coming out earlier this year.

Speaking at a LGBT event in February, Ellen told the audience: ‘I’m here today because I am gay. And because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.

‘I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that.’

Other notable winners at the awards included Samuel L. Jackson, who was named International Man of the Year, and Game Of Thrones star Natalie Dormer, who took home the Breakthrough Actress gong.
