Amphlett Lane will become a music venue for one night only as part of Melbourne Music Week in November.

The all-star Amphlett Lane Stirrers will perform three times on Friday November 20 in honour of the lane’s namesake Chrissy Amphlett of Divinyls.

Amphlett Lane was officially named after the late Divinyls singer in February 2015. Chrissy Amphlett died 23 April 2013 at age 53 after a long battle with breast cancer.

12 Australian singers will perform five Divinyls songs at three individually ticketed performances as part of Melbourne Music Week on November 20.

The Amphlett Lane Stirrers are are Olivia Bartley (Olympia); Giuliano Ferla (Twin Beasts); Ella Hooper; Mark Lang (Skipping Girl Vinegar); Jade MacRae (Dune); Elizabeth Mitchell (Totally Mild); Brooke Penrose (Saint Jude); Jenni Powell (The Riff Raiders); Kira Puru; Jess Ribeiro; Tommy Spender; Jane Tyrrell.

They will be led by choirmaster Jack Colwell – a solo artist in his own right – who has arranged choral material for Karen O and Architecture in Helsinki.

The Stirrers will perform a cappella by candlelight, surrounded by Amphlett Lane’s murals and plaque.

Performances are at 8.20pm, 8.50pm, 9.30pm.
