The Belligerents are a five-piece band formed in 2010 and consist of Lewis Stephenson (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), James Griffin (Lead Guitar), Konstantin Kersting (Bass), Andy Balzat (Keys) and White Stag (Drums). They are an indie-dance band that resides in Brisbane, Australia.

The band has been fortunate to support numerous international bands in their short career, which include Metronomy (UK), Breakbot (France), and Neon Indian (USA). They have played alongside Little Red, Miami Horror, The Holidays, Shout Out Louds (Sweden), Regurgitator, The Jezabels, Dum Dum Girls and Dappled City at various festivals. In 2012, The Belligerents have played with Ball Park Music and Last Dinosaurs, and now they plan to tour at selective venues in Queensland and New South Wales, with Van She late April 2012.

The Belligerents have previously released one 5-track EP in January 2011 titled Less Arty More Party featuring the hit singles These Hands and Such a Crime. The band also plan to launch a second 4-track EP late April featuring the singles Steal Money, which was broadcasted in 2011, and Infatuation, which was uploaded to the band’s Triple J Unearthed page 20th of March 2012.

The Belligerents can be compared to bands such as The Rapture, Metronomy, and Foals. The influences on the band are Talking Heads, The Human League and Caribou.

The Belligerents tour-dates, supporting Van She, are:

Thursday 19th April, Brisbane, Oh Hello.
