The Dead Daisies Take Buena Vista Social Club Out On Sydney Harbour

Supergroup The Dead Daises were out cruising in Sydney on Friday with members of the iconic Cuban outfit Buena Vista Social Club.

The Dead Daisies have just returned from Cuba were they were the first western act to perform in the country since President Obama recently opened trade relations between Cuba and the United States.

The Dead Daisies spent at week in Cuba at the end of February performing their own shows and collaborating with Cuban musicians.

During their Cuba visit The Dead Daisies met some of the members of the Buena Vista Social Club and invited them out for a day on Sydney Harbour aboard guitarist David Lowy’s boat.

The ever-evolving Dead Daisies have returned to Sydney start work on their next album with former Motley Crue/Scream member John Corabi taking up lead vocals while Jon Stevens concentrates on his solo career this year. Jackie Barnes, Jimmy’s son and drummer, has also taken up drumming duties for the new record while Brian Tichy was unavailable.

Former Thin Lizzy bass player Marco Mendoza, Guns N Roses guitarist Richard Fortus and Guns N Roses keyboard player Dizzy Reed are all in Sydney working on the next album for The Dead Daisies.
