The Rolling Stones Play Beatles and Blues At Desert Trip Show

in News

The Rolling Stones have fans at their first Desert Trip concert something special … something Beatles and something Blues.

With the new album ‘Blue and Lonesome’ coming on 2 December 2016, The Rolling Stones performed Eddie Taylor’s ‘Ride ‘Em On Down’ at Desert Trip. It was the first and last played by The Stones on 12 July 1962 at the Marquee Club in London.

They also covered The Beatles’ ‘Come Together’. That was a first for The Rolling Stones.

‘Mixed Emotions’ also got a re-reun after being played for the first time since 1990 in Las Vegas last week.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
