Australia’s Tim Wheatley picked up big interest at SXSW for his first showcase of the week at B.D. Riley’s on Tuesday afternoon.

Wheatley is making his debut appearance at SXSW ahead of the release of his second album for Sony and his solo debut ‘Cast of Yesterday’ released in 2015.

While the music of Tim Wheatley is mostly described as ‘Americana’ or ‘alt-Country’, the songs have a depth best suited in the USA to Country, Adult Contemporary, Album Adult Alternative, Modern Adult Contemporary, New Country, Smooth AC and Soft AC formats.

Tim’s ‘Cast of Yesterday’ album was recorded in Australia by Paul McKercher (You Am I, Sarah Blasko) and mixed in LA by Niko Bolas (Johnny Cash, Neil Young).

Tim’s next SXSW showcases are:

March 15, Stephen’s Bar, 9pm
March 18, B.D. Riley’s, 5pm
