Timothy B. Schmit released his sixth solo studio album, Leap of Faith, in late September with the vinyl hitting stores this Friday. Starting January 7, Schmit will be on the road on the U.S. west coast to promote the album.

The album was recorded at his Los Angeles studio and was co-produced by Hank Linderman who has previously worked with America, the Eagles, Don Henley, Chicago, Keb Mo and many other artists. Schmit wrote the entire album on his own. “In any collaboration one has to make a series of compromises. That’s not a bad thing, it’s simply not what I’ve chosen to do with this project. I’m just putting it out there, and maybe some of these ideas might resonate with listeners.”

So far, Schmit has scheduled six shows in California but more dates should be coming in the near future.

01/07 – San Juan Capistrano, CA – Coach House
01/08 – Agoura Hills, CA – Canyon Club
01/19 – Oakland, CA – Yoshi’s
01/20 – Livermore, CA – Bankhead Theatre
01/26 – Hermosa Beach, CA – Saint Rocke
01/29 – Pasadena, CA – Rose Theatre

Schmit will also be honored with the rest of the current Eagles in early December at the Kennedy Center Honors.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
