Violent Femmes 2017 Australian Dates

by Paul Cashmere on December 12, 2016

in News

Violent Femmes will play Australian dates starting in Melbourne on March 16.

“We would like to continue our decades-long love affair with Australia by bringing the rock to the regions. We will be playing old favourites and new with our usual shambolic splendor, ” Femmes Aussie member Brian Ritchie said.

This year Violent Femmes released ‘We Can Do Anything’, their first album in 16 years.

Some of the shows will feature indigenous father/daughter duo Rayella.

“Eleanor and Raymond’s father/daughter vocal frontline lend authenticity to their stories of life, aspirations and place… Their music is a deep blend of modern life and ancient energy,” Brian said.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
