Vivid Music has added ‘New Wave: Sound’ featuring Australia’s underground electro/acoustic artists coming together in June.
New Wave: Sound will feature musicians hand-picked by composer and curator Andrew Batt-Rawden.
“They are all at the forefront of their practice and embrace experimentalism in their own way,” explains Batt-Rawden. “It’s going to be quite a wild trip for anyone who goes. In terms of audio you will be glimpsing very much what is happening at the cutting edge of music practice internationally.”
Batt-Rawden promises the performance will be intense. “If you’re not versed in experimental music, brace yourself. It’s divisive. Some of it is really challenging, but that is the really cool part about it; you get to argue about that with the mates you go with. Which parts were amazing and why? It’s an experience that’s going to be unlike anything else you go to this year.”
