One hours after posting the call to fans, Sony Australia received thousands of emails.

The original post stated:

“Hey Australia and New Zealand.

“We are very disappointed right now because Sony Music Australia, the label who is taking care of our Aussie/New Zealand R.E.V.O. release, is refusing to release the record like the rest of the world is. They won’t really give us a good explanation. Maybe they think we don’t have enough fans there…I think they are dead wrong.

“Maybe you can send them and email asking them why…

“We are super livid about this. We love our fans from down under and a bunch of you have been with us from the start… this is ridiculous.

WOTE”

One hour later Walk Off The Earth posted:

“Hey AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND!

“Apparently your emails to Sony Music Aus have shook them up. They just contacted us to inform us that they have agreed to release R.E.V.O.

“This is crazy…It was less then an hour ago that we asked you guys to email them with your thoughts about there lack of support for WOTE. You guys are the shit!!! Thanks sooo much.

“They said it will be out sometime in the next 7 days. We will keep you posted.

WOTE”.

Walk Off The Earth were the Canadian band that covered Gotye ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ with the video of five people playing one guitar. At time of publication it has had 137,919,397 YouTube views.

This story has been updated. Walk Off The Earth ‘R.E.V.O.’ was always planned for release by Sony Australia on November 16 and is still scheduled for that day.
