Daft Punk will not be heading out on the road with a new show in 2013, according to Bestival curator and BBC radio DJ Rob da Bank.

“There’s all kinds of crazy rumours flying about at the moment about Daft Punk at Coachella, and The Rolling Stones playing Glastonbury,” da Bank said in an interview with eFestivals.co.uk. “We got told months ago that Daft Punk were definitely not touring next year, but it keeps the rumour mill going.”

Daft Punk rumours have been floating around the internet for a while. In 2009 there were supposed 2010 tour dates leaked, but the band have remained out of the spotlight leaving fans itching to see how they are going to top their universally applauded “pyramid” show which

Their last album was the electronic score for the film Tron: Legacy in 2010, but before that fans haven’t heard new material from the band since 2005’s Human After All.

It does appear, however, that the band are cranking up their gears once again. Their official website www.daftpunk.com goes to a holding page and people are once again talking about them. Seven years after an album of actual songs, how have the French duo managed to remain at the forefront of everyone’s minds? It must be a jillion giga-watts of stage lighting etched into the retinas of fans all around the world.
