Yes To Play Classic Albums Live

by Roger Wink, VVN Music on December 12, 2012

in News

It has become commonplace for classic rock artists to play one of their biggest albums in its entirety as part of a show but Yes is taking it to another level by playing three albums in their entirety during a number of early 2013 shows.

The three albums selected are their third album, The Yes Album (1971), their fifth album, Close to the Edge (1972) and and their eighth album, Going For the One (1977). The Yes Album includes the classic I’ve Seen All Good People (Your Move/All Good People) along with A Venture which the group has never played in concert. Close to the Edge includes And You and I while Going For the One includes Awaken which Jon Anderson called “a masterwork.”

Drummer Alan White said in a press release “This is a great opportunity to show the growth of Yes in these different eras…and to relive the memories of these times.”

Note that five of the dates will only include The Yes Album and Close to the Edge due to time limitations.
