Sydney indie rock quartet Battleships debuted their stunning single ‘In Retrospect’, and been playing catch-up ever since.

It took writing songs together over Skype for the rest of Battleships to convince vocalist and guitarist Jordan to move down from the Sunshine Coast and make a go of the band’s erudite indie rock.

Jordan, Jonathan, Nato and Dan drop in to discuss the move, the unexpected success of their beautiful lead single ‘In Retrospect’, the uneasiness of being influenced by Radiohead, “intelligent” music, their terrible early bands, post-Britpop, and not making plans.
