King Cannons

Frontman for anthemic soul-rock underdogs King Cannons, Luke Yeoward, tells us they’re a pop band. Seriously.

Yeoward is obviously a little conflicted about his punk rock musical history, but that force has manifested itself beautifully in the suite of proud rock n’ soul anthems on their debut album The Brightest Light.

We talk to the impeccable Yeoward about racking up a bank of songs, getting local by singing about the West Gate and Bolte Bridges, having Kiwi rock royalty Tom Larkin of Shihad not only produce but tour with the band, the success of ‘Take The Rock’, and forging their sound overseas.
