Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider is featured in an amazing short film music video to preview the new musical ‘Rock Me Amadeus’.

‘Love Hurts Uninvited’ is the first of a series of video announcing the show created by opera singer Alyson Cambridge and guitar virtuoso Tony Bruno.

The song ‘Love Hurts Uninvited’ is a merging of the classic Nazareth/Jim Capaldi hit ‘Love Hurts’ with Alanis Morissette’s ‘Uninvited’ to a backdrop of Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet.” The video also features Kia Warren and Chloe Lowery.

Directed by Matthew Stiller, the video was shot by Tyler Ribble and Pierre Tsigaridis, and edited by Simon K. Wheeldon in a neo noir film style, in black and white with evocative pops of color, representing the show’s classic-meets-modern ambiance. Filmed from both sides of the US, the video shows Snider from a downtown LA hotel room, while Warren and Lowery are seen on the abandoned streets of NYC and inside Flux Studios.

RMA Co-producer Tony Bruno says about their new video, “As in Romeo and Juliet, there’s always more to love than the attraction. It’s complicated, frustrating and painful at times. Some endure and some don’t. This mashup was born out of that feeling which we have all experienced at one time or another.”

Because of Covid the show is yet to be produced. When we get closer to opening up America a date for the show will be revealed.

‘Get On Board’ was released in 1993 at the height of the CD format. It was not released on vinyl in its day. The album spent 69 weeks on the chart and generated the singles Lost, Memphis, I Remember, and Green Limousine. The band then went on to be nominated for five ARIA Awards – Album of The Year, Single of The Year (Lost), Breakthrough Artist – Album, Breakthrough Artist – Single (Lost), and Best New Talent. John Lennon’s 1970 ‘John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band’ will be given a major upgrade.

The new edition will feature 6CD with 102 new Stereo Mixes plus two Blu-Rays with 159 new mixes.

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band was John’s first solo studio rock album. He had previous released the live ‘Live Peace In Toronto 1969’ the previous year and the three avant-garde albums ‘Unfinished Music Vol 1: Two Virgins’ (1968), ‘Unfinished Music No 2: Life With The Lions’ (1969) and ‘Wedding Album’ (1969).

‘John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band’ was the album before ‘Imagine’ a year later.

Yoko Ono said, “With the Plastic Ono Band albums, John and I liked the idea of this really raw, basic, truthful reality that we were going to be giving to the world. We were influencing other artists, giving them courage, giving dignity to a certain style of vulnerability and strength that was not accepted in society at the time. Zak Nilsson, the son of the late singer songwriter Harry Nilsson, has lost his battle with colon cancer.

Zak was the son of Harry and his first wife Diane Clatworthy. In a statement the Nilsson family said, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear brother Zak Nine Nilsson. Zak was a talented musician and a generous soul, and he loved sharing his memories of dad with the world. We are comforted that he is at peace, though we will miss him so. We love you, Zak”

St Vincent will release her sixth studio album in just over two months’ time, as it was confirmed on Thursday (04.03.21) that ‘Daddy’s Home’ will hit shelves on May 14.

In a statement about the record, St. Vincent said: “’Daddy’s Home’ collects stories of being down and out in downtown NYC. Last night’s heels on the morning train. Glamour that’s been up for three days straight.”

St. Vincent began writing the album in 2019 after her father was released from prison following his arrest in 2010, and ‘Daddy’s Home’ is heavily inspired by the vinyls her dad used to listen to when she was a child.

‘Daddy’s Home’ was produced by Annie Clark and Jack Antonoff, recorded by Laura Sisk, mixed by Cian Riordan, and mastered by Chris Gehringer.

The music was performed by Annie, Jack, Cian, Thomas, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhard, Lynne Fiddmont and Kenya Hathaway.

Alongside the album announcement St. Vincent also released her first single from the new record, ‘Pay Your Way In Pain’, the music video for which was also released on Thursday.

Daddy’s Home is out May 14 on Loma Vista Recordings, and can be pre-saved on streaming services now, as well as pre-ordered on CD, Vinyl, Deluxe Vinyl, and Cassette.

Robert Smith, of alternative rock band The Cure, is selling off prints of his original artwork to raise money for Heart Research UK.

Robert became a patron of the charity in 2020, following his involvement with the charity’s anonymous heART project over the past 2 years. The project, now in its 4th successful year, sees pieces of art from celebrities and artists auctioned on eBay. The twist? Though a full list of contributors is available, buyers don’t know who produced which piece until they receive it.

The artwork for sale is a piece Robert produced for the 2020 anonymous heART project and is titled ‘I WILL KISS YOU FOREVER…’

It features lyrics from The Cure hit ‘The same deep water as you’ and the original sold for over £5,000 in the initial auction.

In response to a large number of requests from fans to buy prints of his work, Heart Research UK are selling high quality A4 and A3 prints of the artwork, for £25 and £50 respectively. The prints will be on sale from the1-14th March 2021, and will then be printed to order.

All of the money raised will support Heart Research UK’s life-saving work, funding pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.

Robert Smith said: ““More than a quarter of all deaths in the UK are caused by heart and circulatory disease – I have very sadly seen too many friends and family fall victim over the years.

“Continuing support for research into the understanding and treatment of coronary heart disease is absolutely vital – for everyone.

“Before the anonymous heART project, I hadn’t picked up paint with purpose for almost 30 years. My favourite creative medium has always been sound, but making these has inspired me to start drawing again.

“I’m so thrilled to be able to support a charity that means a lot to me, and also share a little bit of myself with The Cure’s passionate and generous fanbase.”

Janet Jackson is the latest pop superstar to get the documentary treatment.

Lifetime and A&E bosses in the U.S. will simulcast a new four-hour film across two nights in 2022, with the two-part series, tentatively titled Janet, hitting the small screen to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Jackson’s self-titled debut album.

The documentary will chronicle her “musical success as well as her tumultuous private life”, according to a press release, and the reclusive star will discuss her controversial 2004 Super Bowl appearance with Justin Timberlake, when she accidentally exposed a breast, and the death of her brother Michael in 2009.

A&E officials have described the documentary as being “an intimate, honest and unfiltered look at her untold story”.

“Janet has enjoyed immense success but also seen incredible tragedy,” the broadcaster said in a statement, reports Sky News. “She has endured a tumultuous private life in the face of extraordinary public scrutiny.

“With no stone left unturned, Janet lifts the lid on her private life for the very first time and reveals the most intimate moments of the star ever caught on camera.”

According to Deadline, bosses at British production company Workerbee have been filming Jackson for over three years and have been granted exclusive access to archival footage and home videos.

Adam Levine has confirmed his band Maroon 5 have finished their follow-up to 2017’s ‘Red Pill Blues’ amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and teased it’s “not far off” being released.

He shared: “I’m going to tell you right now that the album’s done. And I can tell you it’s finished, I can tell you it’s been mastered, and I can tell you it’s been delivered, but I can’t tell you when it comes out. But it’s not far off, I’ll just say that.”

Levine admitted 2020 was “a strange year to make an album” and he struggled to get “fired up” in the beginning, but once he started focusing on just writing songs, things took off quickly.

On making the record in quarantine, he told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “I couldn’t really be fired up the way I normally was. So I had to just kind of experiment and then try different things. And doing it all at home, and balancing everything with helping family out, and there were a lot more variables than I think … We’ve all been facing a lot more variables and unknowns over the past year, so it was a strange year to make an album. But once we got into the rhythm of it, it was pretty easy, because I just kind of immersed myself in it, and once I kind of got lost in the process of just continuing to write songs. And it was like that’s always how it is, man. Once you get started and the snowball rolls, it’s just you’re there.”

Maroon 5 have just dropped their collaboration with rap sensation Megan Thee Stallion, ‘Beautiful Mistakes’, and Adam has hailed Megan for bringing “a more epic kind of climax” to the song, which sees her show off her vocal talent as well as rapping skills.

He gushed: “I told her that when we finally met up, because obviously everything was done separate. And when we actually saw her in person, and we shot the video together, I told her. I was like the little break where you go to the melodic thing, to be honest, it actually shows this new kind of branch of what she does, and this new versatility that she’s going to show everybody right now. And I was so, I remember when I heard it, I was like, oh, that’s big. That’s a side of her I had never really heard yet. Well, it’s one of those great songs that I think kind of continues to build. And the way she built her part was just, it couldn’t have been a more epic kind of climax for the song. I mean, it really is absolutely perfect. So, I mean, what she did was just miraculous, and it brought the song to a whole new level.”

David Crosby has become the latest rock legend to sell his back catalogue to music mogul Irving Azoff’s Iconic Artists Group.

Crosby has partnered with Azoff on a wide-ranging deal to monetise his recordings.

Iconic has purchased the publishing and recorded music rights to the catalogue, which includes David’s solo work as well as his output as a member of The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, according to Billboard.

“I’ve known David as a friend and have admired him as a great artist since our earliest days at Geffen Roberts Management shortly after I moved to Los Angeles,” Azoff said in a statement.

“This is an incredible time to be involved with David and his tremendous catalogue of music,” he went on, calling Crosby “truly one of music’s most prolific songwriters and artists”.

“I’m honoured he has made Iconic the steward of his timeless musical legacy,” he added.

The news comes just weeks after Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Azoff snapped up a controlling interest in The Beach Boys’ intellectual property, including its brand and select memorabilia.

He said in a statement: “I am honored that the Beach Boys have entrusted Iconic to preserve and grow their legacy. And I’m thrilled that the Beach Boys want to stay invested in the growth of the incredible cultural brand they created.”

Ian Brown has pulled out of a festival because he refuses to accept vaccination proof as a condition for entry.

The former Stone Roses frontman was due to headline the upcoming Neighbourhood Weekender festival in his hometown of Warrington, England on the first weekend of September, the three-day event’s rescheduled date, but he has withdrawn because he claims all attendees will need to prove they’ve been vaccinated against the coronavirus as a condition of entry.

Brown took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm he would no longer be among the headliners, writing, “My Saturday night headline show at NHBD Weekender Festival will now not happen! I refuse to accept vaccination proof as condition of entry. Refunds are available!”

Organisers for the festival issued a statement on Twitter in which they stated they would “comply with the conditions outlined by the government through the local authority. No decisions will be taken by government until 21 June at the earliest.”

Brown, who has been vocal about his scepticism about Covid-19, the lockdown, and the vaccine on Twitter, has been replaced by Sit Down rockers James.

Other headliners include Gerry Cinnamon, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Sam Fender, and Shed Seven.

John Hiatt has downed tools on a new album with the Jerry Douglas Band at the historic RCA Studio B in Nashville. The album is titled ‘Leftover Feelings’.

RCA Studio B is a studio built for musicians. “I was immediately taken back to 1970, when I got to Nashville,” said Hiatt upon entering the studio. A half-century ago, Hiatt lived in a ratty, $15-a-week room on Nashville’s 16th Avenue, less than a mile away from RCA and Columbia studios that were the heartbeat of what had come to be known as “Music Row.” “You can’t not be aware of the records that were made there…Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Waylon Jennings doing ‘Only Daddy That’ll Walk the Line’ (which is referenced in the new song “The Music is Hot”). But that history wasn’t intimidating, because it’s such a comfortable place to make music.”

Jerry Douglas has performed on more than 1,500 albums by artists including Ray Charles, George Jones, Alison Krauss, Earl Scruggs, and James Taylor.

‘Leftover Feelings’ I preceded by the track “All The Lilacs In Ohio,” which was filmed at Historic RCA Studio B during the recording sessions. The video was directed by Lagan Sebert and Ted Roach.

Bruce Springsteen has dedicated his song ‘I’ll See You In My Dreams’ to Mushroom Group boss Michael Gudinski, who passed away on Tuesday 2 March 2021 at age 68.

Springsteen became close to Michael after Gudinski’s Frontier Touring Company toured Bruce’s E Street Band tours Australia over the past decade.

Springsteen tweeted the words of the song in honor of Michael.

Principal photography has begun in London on Pistol, the six-episode FX limited series about the legendary Sex Pistol guitarist Steve Jones, based on his memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol. Pistol is executive produced and directed by Danny Boyle, created by Craig Pearce and written by Pearce and Frank Cottrell Boyce.

Slated to air in 2022 on FX on Hulu, the series will faithfully capture the story of the Sex Pistols, the British-born, anti-establishment musical icons.

Joining the previously announced cast are Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queen’s Gambit, Game of Thrones) as Malcolm McLaren and Talulah Riley (Westworld) as Vivienne Westwood. Christian Lees (Sun Records) also joins the cast as Glen Matlock and Iris Law makes her screen debut as Soo Catwoman.

The series stars Toby Wallace (Babyteeth, Acute Misfortune) as Steve Jones, Anson Boon (Crawl, 1917, Blackbird) as John Lydon, Louis Partridge (Enola Homes, Medici) as Sid Vicious and Jacob Slater as Paul Cook.

Additional cast includes Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as punk icon Jordan, Dylan Llewellyn (Derry Girls) as Wally Nightingale, Sydney Chandler (Don’t Worry Darling) as Chrissie Hynde, Emma Appleton (The Witcher, Traitors) as Nancy Spungen.

Anchored by Jones’ memoir, which offers a fascinating new perspective on one of rock’s greatest ever stories, Pistol moves from West London’s council estates, to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s notorious Kings Road SEX shop, to the international controversy that came with the release of Never Mind the Bollocks, which is frequently listed as one of the most influential albums of all time. Their single “God Save the Queen” was banned by the BBC and reached Number 1 on the UK’s NME chart, but appeared at Number 2 on the Official UK Singles chart, leading to accusations that the song was purposely kept off the top spot. For the only time in chart history, the track was listed as a blank, to avoid offence to the monarchy.

Shaggy has declared the passing of the legendary singer – who passed away in hospital on Tuesday (02.03.21), aged 73, after suffering a stroke in 2020 – as “one of the lowest moments in the history of our culture”.

Shaggy added that losing Bunny – who performed in The Wailers alongside the genre’s hero Bob Marley – is a “great loss for reggae and the Jamaican people”.

He wrote on Instagram: “It’s clear that 2021 will not be a better year than 2020, this is one of the lowest moment in the history of our culture. Bunny Livingston aka: Bunny Wailer founding member and sole survivor of the trio the Wailers is no longer with us. This is a great loss for reggae and the Jamaican people and Reggae fans around the world. You have made us proud king’ rest well. Condolences to the family. R.I.P. Bunny .. your music will forever wail!!! (sic)”

Busta Rhymes was also among those to honour Bunny.

Alongside a picture of the late music legend, the 48-year-old Jamaican-American hip-hop star wrote on Instagram: “Rest Well to the Icon & Legend Bunny Wailer.”

Bunny’s sad passing was confirmed by his manager, Maxine Stowe, as well as Jamaica’s Culture Minister, Olivia Grange.

In a statement, Grange said: “At the request of the family, I announce with deepest sadness, the passing of patriarch, brother, friend and Jamaican music icon, the great Bunny Wailer. Bunny Wailer, whose given name is Neville O’Riley Livingstone, passed away at 9am today at Andrew’s Memorial Hospital in Kingston. We mourn the passing of this outstanding singer, songwriter and percussionist and celebrate his life and many accomplishments …

“We remember with great pride how Bunny, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, took Reggae music to the four corners of the earth. Today, the last surviving Wailer has passed. His son Abijah said to me this morning that ‘Bunny Wailer cannot die, he has transitioned’. What Bunny Wailer has done for Reggae, as one of the pioneers and standard-bearers of our country’s music, lives on. Let us hold dear Bunny’s music, his memory and his family.”

Throughout his storied career, in which he performed tracks such as ‘Simmer Down’ and ‘Stir It Up’, Bunny won three Grammys and was also honoured with Jamaica’s Order Of Merit in 2017.

Mariah Carey is facing another family legal dispute after her estranged brother filed suit over allegations made in her memoir.

Morgan Carey claimed his superstar sister falsely painted him as a violent man in her 2020 autobiography, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, in which the singer described a struggle between him and their father, which sparked a call to the police.

According to court papers obtained by TMZ, Mariah wrote in the book: “It took twelve cops to pull my brother and father apart. The big bodies of men, all entangled like a swirling hurricane, crashed loudly into the living room.”

She added: “I was a little girl with very few memories of a big brother who protected me. More often, I felt I had to protect myself from him, and sometimes I would find myself protecting my mother from him too.”

The singer also recalled an incident in which Morgan is accused of shoving their mum against a wall: “Suddenly there was a loud, sharp noise, like an actual gunshot. My brother had pushed my mother with such force that her body slammed into the wall, making a loud cracking sound.”

Morgan insists he never physically fought with their dad when Mariah was a child and disputes her account of the alleged attack on their mum because there are many witnesses who can attest to the “deep affection” mother and son share.

He also argues Mariah contradicts her own claims by later recalling how their mum once said: “Morgan is the only one I love.”

Morgan is seeking undisclosed damages for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress from the Hero hitmaker, whose representatives have yet to comment on the lawsuit.

The news emerges a month after their sister, Alison Carey, also sued Mariah for emotional distress for comments made in the memoir, demanding at least $1.25 million (£894,000) in compensation.

Victorian Premier Dan Andrews has confirmed that music industry legend Michael Gudinski will be given a state funeral.

Michael’s wife Sue has accepted the honor with a date to be announced soon.

Dan Andrews said, “I went and saw Sue last night and offered her and the family a state funeral for an amazing Victorian.

“It will be a celebration of his life; the details will be finalised in coming days.

“It’s got to be COVID-safe of course, but I think we will be able to come together in an iconic venue and celebrate his life and the mark that he made and the legacy he leaves.”

The state funeral is expected to be held at an iconic Melbourne venue. Through his many operations Michael Gudinski would have at some time had one of his acts play in every major venue in Australia.

Bunny Wailer, the co-founder of The Wailers with Bob Marley, has died in Jamaica at age 73.

It is understood that Bunny had been in ill health for some time. He was hospitalized in Kingston in December. A cause of death has not been announced.

Bunny Wailer (born Neville Livingston) was the second last surviving member of the original Wailers. Bob Marley died in 1981, Peter Tosh in 1987, Junior Braithwaite in 1999 and Cherry Smith in 2008. Backing singer Beverly Kelso is the last surviving member of the original line-up although her tenure with the band was shortlived. She left the band in 1965, two years after they formed.

Bob Marley & The Wailers started to get noticed with the 1973 album ‘Catch a Fire’ that peaked at 171 in the USA. The first US Top 10 album was ‘Rastaman Vibration’

Bunny left the group one album later after ‘Burnin’ in 1973. His first solo album was ‘Blackheart Man’ in 1976.

In October 2018 Bunny suffered a minor stroke. He had another stroke in July 2020.

In 2017 the Jamaican Government awarded him the Order of Merit, the country’s fourth highest honour.

James will release ‘All The Colours of You’, their follow-up to 2018’s ‘Living in Extraordinary Times’ on June 4.

The album’s title track is out now, and the 11-song collection was produced by Jacknife Lee – who is known for his work with the likes of U2, The Killers and Taylor Swift.

It marks the group’s first LP since signing to Virgin Music Label & Artists Services (formerly known as Caroline International).

Frontman Tim said the songs were made to mirror “the colours of these crazy times” amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

He said in a statement: “With all the shit that went down in 2020 this was a miraculous conception and another big jump forward for us on the back of the last 3 albums. I hope It reflects the colours of these crazy times. Sweet 16 is a proper album, no fillers and is up there with our best. With love. Tim.”

Bassist Jim Glennie added: “I’m pleased, proud and surprised by this record in equal amounts. Jacknife has pushed us and the songs somewhere new and it’s very exciting. After all these years, we are still challenging ourselves and our fans. Enjoy.”

The record tackles politics, climate change, and the loss of loved ones to coronavirus.

Single ‘All The Colours Of You’ is about the “divisiveness and hatred stoked by” former President Donald Trump, which US-based Tim witnessed first-hand.

A press release states that: “Highlighting the sharp rise of white supremacy during his reign, the track ultimately offers a glimmer of hope, a new and brighter future with the refrain ‘Love all the colours, all the colours of you.'”

Meanwhile, James are due to hit the road with the Happy Mondays in November and December for their UK and Ireland tour.

The Jeff Buckley biopic ‘Everybody Here Wants You’ will be co-produced by the late music legend’s mother, Mary Guibert, and has been given the seal of approval of his estate.

The upcoming film has been described as the “the only official dramatisation of Jeff’s story”.

Mary will co-produce along with the manager of his estate, Alison Raykovich.

Buckley’s parent said in a statement: “This will be the only official dramatisation of Jeff’s story which I can promise his fans will be true to him and to his legacy. Thankfully, my determination to assemble all the right participants, no matter how long it took, is about to culminate in the best way possible.”

Richard Story of Sony Music Entertainment, owners of Buckley’s music, added: “Jeff Buckley was a once-in-a-lifetime artist whose music touched people’s hearts and changed their lives.

“Sony Music has been honoured to bring Jeff’s music to the world and now, Everybody Here Wants You is providing a unique opportunity to introduce Jeff to a whole new generation of fans.”

Jeff Buckley tragically passed away in 1997, aged 30, by accidental drowning.

While this is the first official biopic, various films have been made about Buckley’s life, including 2012’s ‘Greetings From Tim Buckley’, which saw ‘You’ star Penn Badgley portray the late singer, and 2009’s ‘Amazing Grace: Jeff Buckley’.

In 2019, Buckley’s entire back catalogue hit streaming services for the 25th anniversary of ‘Grace’.

More than 50 songs were made available to mark the milestone of the seminal 1994 LP, which features the late star’s acclaimed version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’.

His mother hoped unleashing her son’s vault would bring his music to generations to come.

She said at the time “The music industry has made a couple of sea changes since Jeff departed the planet.
“I don’t know if he foresaw even a glimpse of the current state of affairs.

“Since all we have of his true remains is what’s in “the vault”, I’m thrilled that we can finally fling open the doors of that vault and make as much as possible available to Jeff’s fans: the old ones and the new ones, and the ones who have not yet been born.”

Chris Barber, was one of the ‘Three Bs’ – along with Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball – who are considered to have defined traditional British jazz and led the ‘Trad’ revival of the 1950s and 1960s – and he died “peacefully in his sleep” after suffering with dementia, his record label The Last Music Company confirmed in a tribute post on its website.

A post was also made on the official Twitter account of The Last Music Company, which read: “BRITISH JAZZ GIANT CHRIS BARBER DIES AT AGE 90”.

“Chris Barber died peacefully in his sleep on 1st March 2021. He had been suffering from Dementia for the last couple of years. We are saddened by his loss.”

Chris formed his first band in London during the 1940s but it was only when he and clarinettist Monty Sunshine formed a co-operative band in 1953 under Ken Colyer that his career took off.

Chris shared a long-standing partnership with trumpeter Pat Halcox, who worked with him from 1954 to 2008 in his various bands.

The band would find success with Ottilie Patterson – who he was married to from 1959 to 1983 – as they progressed from small jazz clubs to concert halls

Barber enjoyed chart success when he played the double bass on the 1956 record ‘Petite Fleur’ as the song reached the top five in both the UK and the United States.

Chris worked closely with Lonnie Donegan, the band’s original banjoist and the pair often included a short set of ‘skiffle’ – American country blues and folk songs – in their concert sets.

The pair’s version of ‘Rock Island Line’ in 1955 became the first debut vocal recording to become a certified Gold Disc in the UK.

Barber was a central figure in the blues revival of the 1960s and introducing performers such as Sister Rosetta Sharpe, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee and Muddy Waters to Britain. He added electric guitarist John Slaughter to his band, which became the Chris Barber Jazz and Blues Band.

He was awarded an OBE for his services to music in 1991 and only announced his retirement in 2019, having led a band for almost 70 years.

Country legend Dolly Parton has officially received the COVID-19 vaccine she helped fund.

Dolly shared a video of herself receiving a shot from a doctor at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee on her Instagram account on Tuesday.

Dolly captioned the post: “Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine,” referencing the $1 million (£720,000) she donated to fund COVID-19 vaccine research at Vanderbilt last year.

The research helped create Moderna’s vaccine.

In the video, Dolly sings some cheerful bars from her hit track ‘Jolene’, altering the lyrics to: “vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, I’m begging of you please don’t hesitate”.

Last month, Parton, who turned 75 in January, insisted she was prepared to wait a little longer to get the vaccine so that others who needed the shot could get their doses first.

“I don’t want it to look like I’m jumping the line just because I donated money,” she said, explaining: “I’m very funny about that. I’m going to get mine, though, but I’m going to wait.”

She added: “I want it. I’m going to get it. When I get it, I’ll probably do it on camera so people will know, and I’ll tell them the truth, if I have symptoms and all that. Hopefully it’ll encourage people.”

Rock legend Alice Cooper may have his first number one in Australia but the end of this week based on midweek sales of his ‘Detroit Stories’ album.

‘Detroit Stores’ is one of Alice’s hardest rocking records in decades. “It’s about Detroit,” Alice tells Noise11.com. “We were going to do a hard rock album and the home of hard rock in America is Detroit. Los Angeles had The Doors and Love and Buffalo Springfield. San Francisco was psychedelic country with bands like Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York was really sophisticated with the Young Rascals. Detroit had Iggy and the Stooges, the MC5, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Suzi Quatro, all hard rock bands. Because that’s what that city was about. People did not like soft rock. Bands like Seals & Crofts would have gotten killed in Detroit”.

Artists worldwide are paying tribute to music industry legend Michael Gudinski who passed away in his sleep in his Melbourne home overnight.

Leo Sayer is part of the upcoming Apia tour, promoted by the Mushroom Group. In a statement Leo tells Noise11.com, “I’m in total shock over Michael. I don’t reckon he can never be replaced, no-one ever did more for the Australian music industry than he did. We are all running around like lost sheep today. Vale my friend.”

Jimmy Barnes, one of Michael’s closest friends said, “Today the heart of Australian music was ripped out. I felt it, my family felt it, the music business felt it, the world felt it. Michael Gudinski was not only that heart but he was my friend”.

Bruce Springsteen said, “My friend Michael Gudinski was first, last, and always a music man. I’ve toured the world for the last fifty years and never met a better promoter. Michael always spoke with a deep rumbling voice, and the words would spill out so fast that half the time I needed an interpreter. But I could hear him clear as bell when he would say, “Bruce, I’ve got you covered”.

Anthony Albanese wrote, “Shocked and saddened to hear about the death of Michael Gudinski. We were both at the Oils gig in Sydney on Thursday. It’s hard to think of anyone who did more for Australian music than Michael. Vale”.

Kylie Minogue commented, “MICHAEL GUDINSKI – Legend. Legacy. LOVE. A Titan of the music industry. One of a kind and forever family to me. My heart is broken and I can’t believe he’s gone. Irreplaceable and unforgettable, I’ll always love you ‘The Big G’”.

Michael Gudinski, an absolute juggernaut of the Australian music industry, has died at the age of 68.

Michael Gudinski was the founder of Mushroom Records and later Frontier Touring Company. Michael started Mushroom records in 1972. The first album was the 1973 Sunbury Festival. Two years later Mushroom released Skyhooks ‘Living In The 70s’ and went on to become the biggest selling Australian album for its time.

After Skyhooks Michael signed unknown New Zealand band Split Enz who, despite having little success for their first few albums, went on to have one of the iconic albums of the 80s with ‘True Colours’ and the song ‘I Got You’.

Gudinski founded The Frontier Touring Company in 1979. The company is now the largest touring company in Australia and one of the biggest in the world after having toured Springsteen, McCartney, The Stones and Madonna.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Gudinski AM overnight. The much-loved Australian music legend died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Melbourne, Australia.

Michael Gudinski was a key figure in shaping the Australian music industry. He founded the Mushroom Group in 1972 at just 20 years old, which flourished into Australia’s largest independent entertainment group covering touring, record labels, publishing, merchandising, booking agencies, film and television production and creative services. Some of Australia’s most iconic albums have been released under one of his Mushroom Group record labels. His touring company Frontier Touring is Australia’s leading promoter, touring the biggest names in global music since its inception in 1979.

A larger-than-life figure, Michael was widely respected for his unwavering passion for all music – in particular Australian music. Most recently, with the music industry severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael conceptualised and developed Music From The Home Front, The Sound and The State Of Music, platforms designed to showcase and support contemporary Australian music in an incredibly difficult time. It speaks to the man he was that of his countless illustrious career achievements these projects, that supported the industry he loved, were ones he was particularly proud of.

Michael was renowned for his loyalty and dedication. His ability to achieve the unachievable against unsurmountable odds was proven time and again and spoke to his absolute passion for his career and life.

Michael’s family loved him immensely and Michael in turn adored his wife Sue, son Matt and partner Cara, daughter Kate and husband Andrew and their children Nina-Rose and Lulu. They meant everything to him, and he was immensely proud of them. Michael often referred to his 200+ staff as the Mushroom Family, with many having clocked decades in his employment.

Michael’s legacy will live on through his family and the enormously successful Mushroom Group – an enduring embodiment of decades of passion and determination from an incredible man.

The family respectfully ask for privacy in this incredibly difficult time and thank everyone for their support.

However, the good news is the headliners Gorillaz, The Strokes and Tyler The Creator will remain for the new dates.

“Huge thanks to our headliners for being flexible and to our amazing Splendour community for their ongoing support. We miss you and we can guarantee that when we see you in November it’s going to be worth the wait!” said Splendour in the Grass co-founders Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco.

“We had so hoped to bring you Splendour’s 20th Anniversary edition this July but we can’t stage the event that you know and love within the current restrictions and international border closures.

“Since March 2020, not a single festival in Australia has been able to run at full capacity and the industry is currently operating at a fraction of pre-Covid levels.

“Australia’s live music industry is made up of many sole traders and small businesses alongside the larger tour and event promoters. In support of them all, we implore the government to provide some form of continued wage subsidy until the industry can once again operate at full capacity.

“And to the music loving public, when a tour or event is postponed we ask you to hold onto your tickets. This is the best way to support your favourite artist or event right now.”

Ticket holders who are not able to attend the new dates will be able to apply for a refund from 12.00pm today until Wednesday 31 March. Musician David Bridie has been named as recipient of the 2021 Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship along with photographer Keith Deverell.

As part of the prize the pair will record and film Antarctica’s natural soundscapes and create an audio-visual document with a soundtrack album of their experience.

David Bridie is one of Australia’s most revered musicians. He is the co-founder of Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend The Chocolate Cake. His soundtracks include ‘The Man Who Sued God’, ‘The Circuit’ and ‘Secret City’.

“I regard this as one of the most fabulous artistic opportunities I have been given and look forward to diving right in,” said Mr Bridie. “I am honoured to be awarded the Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship. I look forward to immersing myself in the sounds and stories that resonate from this place and create a piece of work that reflects the history, science, unique beauty and geography of the only continent where people never lived.”

Dr. Keith Deverell is a Melbourne based visual artist with a background in interactive design.

“The Antarctic Arts Fellowship means so much to me as an artist because Antarctica is a place you think you will never get to see, just like space,” said Dr Deverell.
“Antarctica is so pivotal to the world, it is the source of so many crucial systems, oscillations and reverberations, to stand within them, experience them and interact with them is something very special.”

This year’s Download Festival has been cancelled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The rock festival had been scheduled for June 4-6 with Kiss, System of a Down and Biffy Clyro headlining but has been axed for a second year running due to COVID-19, as UK government guidelines means that live music cannot return for until later in the summer.

Download organisers Festival Republic have assured fans that the festival will return in 2022. Kiss and Biffy Clyro will return with Iron Maiden as the third headliner. Tickets for the event will go on sale on March 5.

Download Festival’s Andy Copping said: “Downloaders, your 2022 headliners are here! Rock ‘n’ roll legends Kiss will be kicking off Friday in style, Iron Maiden will return bringing with them mascot Eddie and more fire than we can handle, and what better way to end the festival than with Biffy who will leave us awestruck with their energy. I’m counting down the days already!”

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson expressed delight that the rockers will be returning to the event after their planned appearance in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The 62-year-old singer said: “Like everyone, we were all hugely disappointed when the global pandemic forced the cancellation of Download 2020 which would have been Maiden’s seventh time headlining here.

“So we are delighted to be invited back and fulfil our ambition of playing Donington Park in every decade since the 1980s!

“As most people know, this Festival is hallowed ground for us (and Eddie!) and our fans’ vocal support and enthusiasm is always phenomenal and much appreciated. We can’t wait to see everyone again, and are determined to make the show one hell of a party and the greatest homecoming ever!”

Barry Gibb has revealed fans of the Bee Gees can expect a biographical film within the next couple of years, which is set to follow the 2020 documentary, ‘The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart’.

Barry is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “The biopic could be about two years away.
“You shall see how I saw the world through my eyes, and there are a lot of things that nobody ever knew about.

“It is a million moments, you know – a million moments that change your life in one day.”

The musician also has an autobiography in the works with his son Ashley, 43, and teased that the tome contains content not suitable for the screen.

He added: “There are things in the book that could never be in the film.”

The biopic and book news comes after it was previously reported that Bradley Cooper was approached by producers over the possibility of playing the eldest of the Gibb brothers, who enjoyed global chart-topping success with younger brothers Robin and Maurice, in an upcoming flick.

The film is to follow the group from the time they arrived in London from Australia and had their first number one hit with ‘Massachusetts’ in 1967.

The band unravelled in subsequent years with substances, pills and booze involved, before Barry led a revival in the 1970s as the Bee Gees embraced a disco sound.

Barry is the last surviving member of the group, as Maurice died in 2003 and Robin passed away in 2012.
The untitled movie is yet to get a director but is to be produced by Graham King, who worked on the Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.

Paramount Pictures are also involved in the film and have purchased the rights from the Gibb estate to use the Bee Gees’ classic music.

Paramount were also involved in ‘Rocketman’, which starred Taron Egerton as Sir Elton John.

The motion picture is being written by Anthony McCarten, who has become much sought-after scripting flicks such as ‘The Theory of Everything’, ‘Darkest Hour’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.

Noel Gallagher was seen shooting a promo for his upcoming High Flying Birds single with the 38-year-old ‘The Crown’ star Matt Smith, and an unknown actress, in West London.

Matt and his co-star were seen riding in a classic black Jaguar ­motor, seemingly the one Noel purchased for a whopping £100,000 in Oasis’ heyday, despite not having a driver’s licence.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The video is for Noel’s upcoming single with his band High Flying Birds, but he wanted it to be special.

“These days a lot of ­people don’t bother with proper videos, but Noel is a bit old school and still values a video that helps communicate the message of a track.

“It’s a cool, heavily styled aesthetic and Matt is the perfect guy to take the lead.”

While an onlooker added of the female seen on set with pals Noel and Matt – who attended Gallagher’s star-studded 50th birthday in 2017 – that : “I’m not sure exactly who she is, but they looked the part together. Matt’s suit was really cool, the car, and her outfit looked the business — really retro, and it’s a great track.”

Noel had previously quipped about his retro whip: “I thought when I became a rock star, I was gonna need a car. So I got a Mk2 ­Jaguar from 1967, the year I was born. It’s got 12 miles on the clock and it just sits in the garage.”

Meanwhile, Gallagher – who recently teamed up with dance duo CamelPhat on the tech-house track, ‘Not Over Yet’ – recently admitted his latest couple of tracks “are easily the best” High Flying Birds stuff he’s ever done.

He said: “I have to say the two tunes I’ve done over the last couple of weeks are easily the best of the High Flying Birds stuff I’ve done, one of them is just fucking ‘wow’, I even amaze myself sometimes.”

The hook line from the first song of the first Nine Inch Nails album featured the lyrics “Head like a hole/Black as your soul/I’d rather die than give you control”. The year was 1989. If someone told you then Trent Reznor would one day win a Golden Globe for a Disney movie about a ‘Soul’ you would have thought they were mad.

Its 2021 and hey guess what? Trent Reznor has just won the Golden Globe award for Best Original Score for the movie … ‘Soul’.

Reznor, the creator of Nine Inch Nails, thanks Disney and Pixar for the opportunity to work on the hit movie ‘Soul’ saying in his acceptance speech that the work was “the first piece of art I’ve ever made in my life that I can show to my kids.”

The name of the first Nine Inch Nails album was ‘Pretty Hate Machine’. The first song was ‘Head Like A Hole’.

‘Pretty Hate Machine’ peaked at no 75 on the US Billboard chart. Although released in October 1989, it did not make an appearance in the chart until February 1990. By 1992 it was certified Gold for sales over 500,000. By 1993, it had become the first independent album to go Platinum (1,000,000 sales). By 1995, it had sold over 3,000,000 copies in the USA.

Trent Reznor wrote the music for ‘Soul’ with Atticus Rose and Jon Batiste.

Reznor and Rose have also written the scores for ‘The Social Network’ (2010), ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ (2011), ‘Gone Girl’ (2014) and ‘Bird Box’ (2018).

The second album for local singer/songwriter Tash Sultana called “Terra Firma” becomes her first No.1 album this week as it debuts in the top spot.

“Terra Firma” by Tash Sultana (Lonely Lands/Sony) is the 908th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2021), the 758th for ARIA (1983 to 2021), the seventh No.1 album for 2021 and the first for her record label ‘Lonely Lands’, while she is also the first female artist at the top since Taylor Swift’s ‘evermore’ held over from 2020 for the first two weeks of this year. This also becomes Tash’s third Top 10 berth after her second EP “Notion” (HP-8, Oct. 2016) and her first album “Flow State” (HP-2, Sept. 2018).

This is the first time that the words ‘Terra’ and ‘Firma’ have appeared in a No.1 album title, with the only other charted “Terra Firma” being for Phil & Tommy Emmanuel, which hit No.12 in March of 1995. Of the eight No.1 albums for this year, six (five fully local) Aussie’s have hit No.1, with this new entry becoming the sixth after The Rubens, The Kid Laroi, Bluey, Illy and Barry Gibb (the former Aussie). Overall this new No.1 album by a local artist becomes the 256th to hit the top here (since the first in 1968), while Tash Sultana becomes the 122nd Australian Artist (solo, duo, group, male or female) to score a No.1 album locally. The last local solo female artist to hit No.1 in Australia was Kylie Minogue with “DISCO” on November 16th, 2020, and overall this is now the 139th No.1 Album by a Solo Female Artist (local or overseas), and Tash becomes the 16th Solo Australian Female Artist to hit No.1, since Olivia Newton-John was the first in 1978, 1980 and 1983 (the first two were soundtrack appearances on ‘Grease’ and ‘Xanadu’).

The next two albums are repackaged editions of the original albums, with last weeks repacked flier for Dua Lipa and “Future Nostalgia (Moonlight Edition)” this week up one spot to No.2, followed by the new ‘Deluxe Edition’ of “Positions” for Ariana Grande which leaps back up twenty-nine spots to land at No.3, with the set now featuring five extra tracks/remixes and it gives the album its seventh week within the Top 10 and its second week during 2021 for a Top 10 appearance (#10 on 11-Jan-21).

Four albums within the Top 10 are on hold this week, and up next are three of them; with “F**k Love (mixtape)” / “Savage (EP)” for The Kid Laroi, “The Highlights” by The Weeknd and “Fine Line” by Harry Styles all non-movers this week at No.4, No.5 and No.6 respectively, while the fourth and final on-hold-LP is at No.8 for Pop Smoke and “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”.

The only dropping album within the Top 10 this week is down five places to No.7, the Foo Fighters latest entry “Medicine at Midnight”. Returning to the Top 100 this at No.9 is the ‘Anniversary Edition’ of the last BTS album “BE”, giving the album its third overall week within the Top 10 and it’s first chart entry since leaving the Top 100 on January 25th, 2021 after an initial eight weeks of chart, peaking at No.2 upon entry. The fourth entry and second NEW entry to the Top 10 this week is the 15th studio album for local country artist Adam Harvey called “Songs from Highway One”, which by entering at No.10 this week becomes his sixth Top 10 album in Australia and also his thirteenth overall chart entry (12 studios and 1 Best of), with his last entry being August 2018’s “The Nashville Tapes” (HP-9).

UP:
TOP 20: Three country (themed) albums climb back up within the Top 20, the current U.S. (6th week) and Canadian (returns for a 5th week) No.1 Album for Morgan Wallen and “Dangerous: The Double Album” is back up to No.12, followed by Luke Combs’ “What You See is What You Get” (17 to No.13) and after leaving the Top 10 last week the Barry Gibb “Songbook” set rebounds six spots to No.16. Rising back up five places to No.19 is the Fleetwood Mac “Rumours” album.
TOP 30: Elton John’s “Diamonds” collection rises again this week, up three to No.22, while the past week saw the announcement of French dance duo Daft Punk officially splitting up, which has seen their last studio album “Random Access Memories” (HP-1×2, peaked late May 2013) return to the chart at No.24. Lewis Capaldi’s debut album rises four to No.25, Maroon 5’s “Singles Collection” is also up four to No.27 and AC/DC’s “Power Up” resurges back up twelve places to No.29.
TOP 40: Post Malone issued a new song on Friday, a cover of the 1995 Hootie & the Blowfish track “Only Wanna Be With You” for the ‘Pokemon 25th Anniversary’, and he also sees his older album “Hollywood’s Bleeding” rise back up three spots to No.32, while collections for Eminem (38 to No.34) and INXS (42 to No.38) along with ‘The Greatest Showman’ soundtrack (48 to No.40) also move back up the chart this week.
TOP 50: Ed Sheeran’s only current Top 50 entry in his duets set “No.6 Collaborations Project”, which is back up five spots to No.41, followed by climbers from below the Top 50 from last week for Halsey and “Manic” (52 to No.46), Green Day’s Best of (57 to No.47, they also issued a new track on Friday), Doja Cat (53 to No.48) and Polo G with “The Goat” (54 to No.50), which is the same position his albums’ singles entry “Martin & Gina” is sitting at over on that chart.

DOWN:
TOP 20: One of the four album dropouts this week falls into the Top 20 chart region, with “evermore” (HP-1×4, WI10-10) by Taylor Swift down two places to No.11 and leaving the Top 10 for the first time in its eleven week chart run, while the only other Top 20 dropping album is Taylor’s previous album to this one in “folklore”, down a spot to No.20.
TOP 30: Last week’s No.1 album for The Rubens called “0202” (HP-1, WI10-1) drops a massive twenty places this week to land at No.21. The only two other slipping albums here are two places drops for both The Weeknd’s “After Hours” (21 to No.23) and “Tickets to My Downfall” by Machine Gun Kelly (26 to No.28).
TOP 40: Lime Cordiale’s “14 Steps to a Better You” falls five to No.33, with single place drops occurring here for Miley Cyrus’s “Plastic Hearts” (30 to No.31), “?” for XXXTentacion (34 to No.35) and “1989” by Taylor Swift (36 to No.37), which is backed with her “Lover” set up one spot to No.36.
TOP 50: The second and final album to score a second week within the Top 50 after debuting last week is UK rapper Slowthai with his second set “Tyron”, which plummets thirty-one spots this week to land at No.42, and it’s the only declining album within this chart region. Two of last weeks entries which leave to land within the lower fifty this week are Luca Brasi with “Everything is Tenuous” (#7) and “Chasing Ghosts” for The Amity Affliction (#10), while new entries from last week for Sia (#12), The Pretty Reckless (#15) and Spacey Jane (#23) all leave the Top 50 this week after entering or returning last week.

During lockdown Ella Hooper created a new album ‘Small Town Temple’. Now she’ll have the chance to perform her lockdown album out of lockdown.

Ella said in a statement “Small Town Temple is inspired by growing up as well as my recent time locked down in Violet Town, along with some relationship break-up songs. One song in particular, Small Town Temple is just me recognising and celebrating the humble beauty of the beaten-up church building my mum lives in, and how it’s a meeting place for all kinds of folks and community. Community and gathering is something that suffered a lot in lockdown and even though things have improved, it’s hard to return to normal as the effects of the pandemic drag through disrupting our usual social habits and behaviours.”

The Who may not make another album because they won’t make any money from it.

The Who – which now comprises of just Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend – are proud of how well-received 2019’s ‘Who’ was but they made a loss on the record and there was tension between the two of them, so they are reluctant to do it again.

Roger told Uncut magazine: “Will there be another Who album? I don’t know.

“There’s no record market any more. Everybody talks about streaming, but have you seen what artists get from that? It’s a joke.

“It was great to have an album out there, something that the fans liked, and I was really proud of it.

“But far too much money was spent making it. It went out of control completely and ended up costing me money. I can’t go on doing that.”

And Pete admitted the difficulties they had making ‘Who’ has put him off wanting to make another record “a little bit”.

He said: “It was tough. I think it was tough for Roger too. I think he and I have found a sort of common ground over it, but there is still a sense that we only just about got it done.

“There’s a certain amount of resentment on both sides. Partly on Roger’s side, perhaps, resentment that we were paid a lot of money for the album and it was all spent making it.

“On my side, the fact that Roger was so actively diffident at first.

“Now he’s proud of what he did on the record and so he should be because he did such a great job.

“But our process is now just me and him and we’re very different – politically, socially, spiritually, different in every respect. But we happen to be in this band together.”

Despie this, the 75-year-old guitarist admitted he’d still like to make another album.

He added: “I do want to make another one and I probably will. It’s been on my mind a lot.”

Taylor Swift has officially cancelled her Lover Fest shows.

Swift announced the 2020 summer festival-style gigs shortly after the release of her Lover album in 2019 and stalled them when the Covid-19 pandemic shut down venues last year.

She was hoping to reschedule the concerts, but on Friday the singer decided she could no longer commit to the shows.

“I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you,” she wrote on her social media accounts. “It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about.

“I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we’ve postponed. Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule.

“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again.”

Fans might not be able to see Swift live any time soon, but she has kept them busy with new and reworked music – she released two albums, Folklore and Evermore, in 2020 and is currently reworking the tracks on her 2008 record, Fearless, which will be re-released in April.

Smith/Kotzen is Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith and The Winery Gods Richie Kotzen. Their debut album is coming March 26.

Smith and Kotzen have made a video for the song ‘Scars’. Richie says, ‘I remember Scars being one of the songs we wrote in the very beginning of the process. There is something moody and mysterious going on in this track that I find quite engaging. This would be a great track for us to stretch out live for some guitar improvisation between the two of us’.

Work on the Smith/Kotzen album became in Turks & Caicos Islands in February 2020. Kevin Shirley mixed the album.

Smith recruited his Iron Maiden mate Nicko McBrian for drums on ‘Solar Fire’. Ritchie’s band mate Tal Bergman plays drums on three tracks ‘You Don’t Know Me’, ‘I Wanna Stay’ and ‘‘Til Tomorrow’. Ricthie plays drums on the other five tracks.

‘Smith/Kotzen’ by Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen will be released on 26 March, 2021.

California’s AFI have been around 30 years this year. Davey Havok formed AFI in November 1991 with a couple of mates at school. Adam Carson joined shortly after and current members Hunter Burgan and Jade Puget joined in 1997 and 1998.

“I couldn’t do what I do in AFI in any other place,” says Jade Puget. “Davey and I have written songs together for over 20 years now. I couldn’t find the thing he and I have together anywhere else, nor the thing the four of us have when we come together. AFI is home for me and will always be that.”

Having worked together now for more than 22 years, AFI are about to release their 11th album ‘Bodies’. “After years of receiving early versions of songs from Jade and Davey, in forms that span loosely arranged chords and scratch vocal to fully realized demos, I think I have become quite adept at knowing which songs will or will not make the record,” says Adam Carson. “‘Begging For Trouble’ was green lit, at least in my mind, the moment I heard the vocals come in. To me, the track is a cornerstone of the new record.”

‘Bodies’ is another different sounding album for AFI. “Anyone who knows our catalog knows that no two records really sit together,” Puget points out. “Some sit a little closer, maybe. We do certain things, just by virtue of who we are, that are consistent, but those things come about organically. Every time we do something, I have to judge it on its own merits. Some fans are going to judge a new album, or a new song, based on what’s come before. But as artists, we can’t do that, because it would only hinder our creativity.”

Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy has released a video for ‘In Stride’ ahead of the release of his second solo album ‘The Ides of March’.

‘In Stride’ was directed by Stefano Bertelli and portrays an animated Kennedy taking things easy at the end of the world. “Chill out. That pretty much sums it up says Myles. “The lyric paints a picture of a survivalist preparing for an impending zombie apocalypse. It was inspired by the first wave of lockdowns as everyone was buying vast amounts of toilet paper and supplies. I started to ask myself if it might be wise to try and gain some perspective and not overreact… keep calm and carry on.”

‘The Ides of March’ will be released in May 2021.

Midnight Oil have played their warm-up show a week after their secret show for the Makarrata Live’ tour of Australia.

‘The Makarrata Project’, released in 2020, featured the first new music from Midnight Oil in 18 years. The album features collaborations with indigenous artists, many of who joined the band at the Enmore Theatre show in Sydney on Thursday night.

‘The Makarrata Project’ is the first of two new music projects for Midnight Oil. A full Midnight Oil album has been completed and will be released in 2021.

The first official show for ‘Makarrata Live’ is this Sunday 28 February at Sirromet Wines at Mount Cotton in Queensland.

James Reyne will get his The Boys Light Up tour back on the road with 41st anniversary shows to make up with the 2020 shut down (to coin a Reyne songtitle).

The first Australian Crawl album ‘The Boys Light Up’ was released in April 1980. Ironically the 40th anniversary of the second album ‘Sirocco’ comes close to these dates. ‘Sirroco’ was released on 20 July 1981.

Kiss will be back on track with the End of the Road world tour in Australia in November.

Like all things rock and roll Kiss ‘End of the Road’ was stopped in its tracks by Covid before the band reached Australia. With Australia well placed for a complete reopening (and indeed with many tours already back on the road) Kiss will reactivate for 2021 in Australia, well before America mends.

Paul Stanley said in a statement, “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel and it’s BLINDING! We are finally coming back. The tour is now official and we will deliver nights that will go beyond all expectations. We are fired up and will count the days.”

Gene Simmons added, “Until we see you stay safe and be ready for us. We’re ready for you!”
