3 Doors Down Bass Player Charged With Homicide

Tennessee rock band 3 Doors Down have cancelled all upcoming shows on the their upcoming US tour following the arrest of bass player Robert Todd Harrell for homicide.

Harrell was jailed on Monday after being arrested initially on a D.U.I. charge following a fatal accident in his Nashville suburb. He has since been released on bail.

Harrell was driving under the influence and speeding on a Nashville freeway when his car clipped a pickup truck driven by Paul Howard Shoulders Jr, flipping the truck and killing Shoulders.

The 3 Doors Down bass player failed a sobriety test. He was found to have been drinking cider and taking prescription medicine Lortab and Xanaz. He was then found with more pills in jail.

The following statement has been issued by 3 Doors Down:

Nashville, TN — Out of respect to Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr., and his family, 3 Doors Down has cancelled the band’s four scheduled U.S. April / May appearances. They will resume touring May 31 in Moscow, and return to the U.S. for scheduled dates in July.

3 Doors Down formed in Escatawapa, Mississippi in 1996. They first had international fame in 2000 with the song ‘Kryptonite’.
