Dave Hill will join A Perfect Circle and Puscifer for the band’s December 2026 Australia and New Zealand tour, adding a comedy and live music component to the six-date run.

Dave Hill has been added to A Perfect Circle’s December 2026 Australia and New Zealand tour, joining previously announced special guests Puscifer for the six-date run. The American comedian, musician, writer and actor will perform before A Perfect Circle at shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland, following his recent touring work with Puscifer in North America.
Hill’s addition gives the tour an unusual opening combination, bringing together two acts connected to Maynard James Keenan’s musical world with a performer whose career crosses stand-up comedy, rock music, television, radio and podcasting.
Hill previously supported Puscifer across the 32-date Normal Isn’t North American tour earlier this year. His performances combine stand-up, storytelling and live music, reflecting a career that has developed across both comedy and alternative music.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and now based in New York City, Hill has worked extensively across television and audio as well as the live circuit. His television credits include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Girls5eva, Inside Amy Schumer, Joe Pera Talks With You, After Midnight and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. He has also contributed regularly to This American Life and Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History, where he has been associated with the programme’s heavy metal coverage.
Music has remained a substantial part of Hill’s career. He fronts Valley Lodge, whose song “Go” is the long-running theme for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. He has also performed with a wide range of musicians, including Tenacious D, Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers, Broken Social Scene, Snoop Dogg and Quicksand.
Hill’s musical history predates his best-known comedy work. In the 1990s he formed the alternative band Sons of Elvis while studying at Fordham University. The group signed with Priority Records and released the album Glodean in 1995. Its single “Formaldehyde” received radio and MTV exposure and appeared on the soundtrack to John Singleton’s film Higher Learning.
His subsequent musical projects have included playing bass with Cobra Verde and other artists, guitar work with Walter Schreifels’ solo band and the hard rock project Diamondsnake, and the psychedelic rock group Painted Doll, formed with Chris Reifert. Painted Doll released its self-titled debut in 2018.
For A Perfect Circle, the Australian and New Zealand dates represent a significant return. The band will play Australia for the first time since 2013 and return to New Zealand for the first time in 22 years.
A Perfect Circle was formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. The band established its catalogue with Mer de Noms, released in 2000 and featuring songs including “Judith” and “3 Libras”. That record was followed by Thirteenth Step in 2003, the politically themed eMOTIVe in 2004 and Eat the Elephant in 2018.
The group’s four-album studio catalogue has sustained A Perfect Circle as a major project alongside Keenan’s other work with Tool and Puscifer. The band has also built an international live reputation through festival appearances and headline performances at venues including Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
The 2026 tour brings that catalogue back to the region after a lengthy absence. With Puscifer already confirmed and Hill now added, the six-date itinerary will span Australia and New Zealand before concluding in Auckland.
