Staind singer Aaron Lewis is safe after a private charter plane he was travelling in veered off a runway in Texas and was stuck in mud.

Lewis was in Warton, Texas filming a segment for his TV show ‘On The Road’ for the Sportsman’s Channel. The Cessna Citation V veered off the runway and lodged in the mud. Lewis was heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was due to appear at the BOK Center supporting Brantley Gilbert.

“I’m so glad that we are safe; however, I am really sorry that the fans in Tulsa were disappointed and let down with me not making tonight’s show. I promise I’ll be back to Tulsa soon,” said Lewis.

Lewis released his first solo album ‘Town Line’ in 2011. It featured his duet ‘Country Boy’ with George Jones. As lead singer of Staind he delivered the hit song ‘It’s Been Awhile’, the most played song on US radio in the past decade. Staind also had three other number one hits and eight Top 10 singles.
