AC/DC Pissed Off At Getting Spotted In Vancouver

AC/DC have gone dark on Steve Newton, the guy who broke the story of the reunited AC/DC recording at a studio in Vancouver.

The chain of events started with Phil Rudd and Stevie Young being spotted on the streets of downtown Vancouver. Rudd, for all intents and purposes, was sacked after the last album. It was big news he was even out of New Zealand, let alone hanging with Malcolm’s replacement, his nephew Stevie.

Days later Brian Johnson was photographed in Vancouver. Another major story considering his sudden dumping from the band.

Then chain-smoking Angus couldn’t stand too much time locked away inside the studio and was photographed coming out for a ciggie.

Steve Newton, a veteran of reporting on the band, was quick to tell the story. At straight.com he argued keeping it quiet vs telling the world. Telling the world made much more sense.

“And what am I supposed to do with a juicy tidbit like that, seeing that I’ve been writing about my fave alltime bands since 1982? Keep it to myself? Wait until some other bozo breaks the news?
“What would TMZ do?,” he wrote.

We still don’t know who the AC/DC bass player is. Cliff Williams left after the last tour. AC/DC traditionally keep everything secret so don’t expect any official announcement until an album is ready to go.
