Angus Young Back With Phil Rudd Working On New AC/DC Album

by Paul Cashmere on August 8, 2018

in News

Angus Young appears to have forgiven the wayward AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd and invited him back into the band to start work on a new album.

Reports out of Vancouver suggest Rudd is in Canada along with Stevie Young and both were spotted near Warehouse Studio where the last AC/DC album ‘Rock Or Bust’ was recorded.

Rudd was dumped from the band after his run-in with the law in New Zealand. He was replaced with Chris Slade who was his replacement first time around in the 80s.

Kyle Harcött of Hexripper spotted the AC/DC members in his town and tweeted it out. It got noticed.

Phil Rudd played on the last AC/DC album ‘Rock Or Bust’ but was removed from the band before the world tour. Lead singer Brian Johnson was fired from the band after the tour because of throat issues and was replaced with Axl Rose of Guns N Roses. Bass player Cliff Williams retired from the band after the Rock Or Bust tour and founding member Malcolm Young died in November 2017, although he was not on the Rock Or Bust album.

If a new AC/DC album is currently being created the line-up potentially is Angus Young, Stevie Young, Phil Rudd and Axl Rose. The bass player is currently unknown. Maybe it is time for Angus to make up with Mark Evans. That would make sense for AC/DC Mk IV.

UPDATE: Not Axl, Brian, Brian Johnson spotted at new AC/DC sessions

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
