Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has revealed how celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain wrote to his daughter Camille after he smashed one of her dad’s guitars.

Bourdain was found dead on 8 June 2018. He had committed suicide.

In a Facebook post Josh Homme wrote, Tony, I miss you bad. Once, Camille was so mad at you. She was defending me. & So were you. Defending me. As we had done & would do many times over the years for each other. & you, with great care, such empathy, such sweetness… you apologized to a little girl who was defending her daddy. Ariane, this was your father. Humbly yours, Joshua.

He then published the letter from Bourdain to his daughter.

Anthony Bourdain went from chef to celebrity when he started his first TV show ‘A Cook’s Tour’ in 2002. His global fame kicked in around 2013 with the show ‘Part’s Unknown’ for the Travel Channel. That show featured special guests, including at one time Barack Obama. The show was also filmed around the world including faraway places such as Libya, Nigeria and Armenia.

Bourdain’s celebrity took him to newfound heights and he became the ‘Hunter S Thompson’ of a generation. In 2015, he played himself in the film ‘The Big Short’.
