There are thirteen stable positions within the Top 50 this week (for a 13th of the month chart too) and four of them occur within the Top 10, most notable of course are the top two spots which are on hold this week, Calvin Harris and Rihanna are on hold at No.1 for a second week with “This is What You Came for” (#1 DL/#2 Str).

By staying for a second week Calvin now doubles the weeks at the top his former No.1 “How Deep is Your Love” achieved, staying atop for a single week, whilst Rihanna takes her tally for this decade to 23 weeks (still #1) and her overall weeks at No.1 to 41 weeks, placing her one week behind the 42 weeks that ABBA notched up during the 1970’s (pre-ARIA charts), and the only current charting artist who could achieve a higher amount, as everybody above her on the list of ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 1940 to 2016’ is no longer charting (Elvis, Beatles, Sintara, Crosby, etc).

Drake holds at No.2 with his “One Dance” (#5 DL/#1 Str) for another week after his recent four weeks at No.1, whilst he still holds the top spot in the US (4th week) and the UK (9th week), and moving back up a place to it’s former peak of No.3 is Justin Timberlake with “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” (#4 DL/#6 Str), which is spending its third broken week at this peak, plus the song is now certified ▲Platinum in sales, and JT’s climb in turn pushes Pink back down one spot to No.4 with “Just Like Fire” (#3 DL/#15 Str).

Meghan Trainor was in the country this past week to promote her second album “Thank You” (TW-3) and this has helped her latest single “Me Too” (#2 DL/#23 Str) to jump up four places to a new peak of No.5, plus the track is newly crowned Gold (●) in sales and it becomes Meghan’s fifth Top 5 hit from seven Top 10 entries. After hitting a new peak last week, Flume and “Say it” (#8 DL/#3 Str) with Tove Lo is back down one to No.6 and now ▲Platinum in sales. The third and fourth stable Top 10 items are “Don’t Let Me Down” (#6 DL/#5 Str) for The Chainsmokers with Daya and “No Money” (#9 DL/#8 Str) for Galantis at No.7 and No.10 respectively, whilst in between those two are a couple of songs falling back this week, “Cake by the Ocean” (#10 DL/#12 Str) for DNCE, which is down two to No.8 and down a single spot to No.9 is Desiigner with his track “Panda” (#12 DL/#4 Str).

UP: Moving up a couple of spot to No.11 are Drake and Rihanna with “Too Good” (#15 DL/#7 Str), whilst up three spots to a new peak of No.16 is Ariana Grande with “Into You” (#11 DL/#19 Str) and right behind her, jumping eleven spots to land at No.17 are Cheat Codes with Kris Kross Amsterdam and their laid-back version of Salt ‘N’ Pepa classic “Sex” (#24 DL/#13 Str). “This Girl” (#22 DL) for Kungs and local act Cookin’ on 3 Burners is stable at No.23 this week and up four to a new peak of No.25 are twenty one pilots and “Ride” (#23 DL/#Str). Four weeks ago “The Fighter” (#13 DL/# Str) for Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood debuted at No.30, and this week it rises past its entry peak by climbing five spots to a new peak of No.28 and up five to No.31 are Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez with “We Don’t Talk Anymore” (#18 DL), after which Dami Im and her Eurovision #2 placed track “Sound of Silence” (#25 DL) is stable at No.32 and now Gold (●) in sales. Meghan Trainor’s promo tour also helps her former Top 10 entry “No” (#32 DL) to go back up a three spots to No.35 and also up three to a new peak of No.39 are Flo Rida and Jason DeRulo with their collaboration “Hello Friday” (#35 DL).

DOWN: No tracks leave or enter the Top 10 this week and most of the Top 20 are stable or only move up or down a couple of places like “Home” (#7 DL/#20 Str) for Topic is down two to No.13 after peaking at No.11, and the only song leaving the Top 20 is last weeks re-entry for Flume in “Never Be Like You” (#40 DL/#11 Str) which drops four to No.24. The equal biggest drop this week goes to Delta Goodrem and “Dear Life” (#29 DL) which is down ten to No.37 and falling five to No.40 is Ariana and her album title track “Dangerous Woman” (#36 Str), and the other ten place drop is for Disturbed and their cover of the Simon & Garfunkel 1966 classic “The Sound of Silence” (#34 DL), which falls to No.47.

There are two songs which debut within the Top 50 this week, the first of which is the return of a local act who first charted back in 2000 with their only other Top 50 entry “Frontier Psychiatrist” (HP-49, peaked October 2000) followed by their debut albums title track “Since I Left You” (HP-67, peaked Feb 2001), and that album returns at No.62 this week, whilst their third Top 100 and now highest charting single “Frankie Sinatra” (#28 DL) is new at No.34 this week, the song samples a 1940’s tune entitled “Bobby Sox Idol” by Wilmouth Houdini and features guest vocals from US rapper and singer Danny Brown and MF Doom, and is taken from their early July due second album “Wildflower” (July 8th) which the group started work on in 2005.

The other Top 50 entry this week is also the lead track from an acts second album, this time the wait is less than a year, as Shawn Mendes debuts at No.45 with “Treat You Better” (#31 DL), taken from his forthcoming second album which has no name or date as yet, and this becomes his third Top 50 hit here after “Stitches” (HP-4, TW-63) and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (HP-33).

Lower 50: Up ten places to a new peak of No.56 are Fifth Harmony with Fetty Wap on last weeks debut “All in My Head (Flex)”, and back up nine to No.59 are OneRepublic and “Wherever I Go” (HP-55), whilst the Kygo track “Stay” returns to its former peak of No.67 this week and his only Top 10 hit “Firestone” (HP-10) with Conrad Sewell is back in at No.99 too, whilst Conrad himself returns at No.83 with “Remind Me” (HP-22).

Imany leaps up nineteen places to a new peak of No.80 with “Don’t Be So Shy” and thanks to is being used in the promo ads for Channel 10’s returning ‘Offspring’ series, the Taylor Swift track “Wildest Dreams” (HP-3) returns at No.90. “When We Were Young” for Adele is down ten to No.95 and newly certified ▲Platinum in sales and some milestones achieved this week are Ed Sheeran with “Thinking Out Loud” notching up a 92nd week within the Top 100 at No.87, The Weeknd and “Can’t Feel My Face” (HP-2) is down four to #100 and racking up its 52nd week on the charts, whilst his track “The Hills” (HP-3) is out after a full year on the charts, and cracking the half-year mark are “Fast Car” for Jonas Blue at No.43 and “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth, down three to No.51 this week.

Landing his sixth Top 100 entry this week is DJ Snake who has teamed with singer George Maple for this weeks No.57 entry “Talk” (#35 DL), with two more DJ Snake tracks still within the Top 100, “Middle” (HP-5) at No.60 and on the Major Lazer single “Lean on” (HP-1) at No.76 in its 66th week within the hundred. The other act featured on the aforementioned song is Danish singer MØ, who sees her third chart entry this week at No.65 entitled “Final Song“, which is the second track to chart here from her forthcoming untitled second album, the first of which was “Kamikaze” (HP-91, Feb 2016).

Miami based DJ and producer DJ Khaled lands his first chart entry here at No.75 with “For Free” which features Drake as guest vocalist, the track taken is taken from his forthcoming ninth album entitled “Major Key”, and the song samples “Blow the Whistle” by Too Short. Another Miami rap/producer debuts at No.91, Kent Jones with his first single “Don’t Mind“, which has so far reached No.13 in the US Billboard charts and the track can be found on his mix-tape album ‘Tours’. The song also features verses and lyrics in French, Spanish, Haitian Creole and Japanese. The final new entry at No.97 is the second for Danish act Lukas Graham entitled “Mama Said“, which is the follow-up to their eight week running No.1 single “7 Years” (TW-21, #27 DL) from earlier in the year, with this new song featuring an interpolation of the ‘Annie’ musical classic ‘Hard Knock Life’, which Jay-Z has previously used too.
