Toni Watson under her moniker of Tones and I and her second single “Dance Monkey” continues to swing at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart tree for a continual record-breaking seventeenth week at #1.

“Dance Monkey” and it’s seventeen weeks here is also matched as a summit-sitter in Norway (15 weeks and counting), Switzerland, Austria (both 10 weeks), Belgium, France (9 weeks apiece), The Netherlands, England (8 weeks each), and Germany (7th week), while it is back up to a re-peak of No.2 in Bulgaria and stuck at No.2 in Canada for a second week, with former No.1 slots now at No.2 in both Sweden and Denmark, and it’s sitting at No.3 in New Zealand and Finland, while it is also on hold in the U.S.A. for a second week at No.23. It’s eighth week in the UK becomes the equal longest running No.1 for 2019 tied with Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care”, plus it’s the longest running UK No.1 single for a solo female artist since Rihanna’s “Umbrella” un 2007 logged ten weeks at the top there.

For this decade’s tally listing of ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 2010’s; Singles’ Tones and I is sitting at No.7 with her seventeen weeks (even though it’s not an accumulated total as such), meaning she has spent more time at No.1 this decade than Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (16 weeks from 4 #1’s), Katy Perry (14 weeks from 3 #1’s) and Flo Rida (14 weeks from 2 #1’s). “Dance Monkey” is also still the longest running No.1 for ARIA (1983 to 2019), the longest running No.1 for a Solo Australian Female artist, the longest stay at No.1 this century and for the modern-rock era (1955 to 2019) and the song will most likely spend a few more weeks at the top, as this coming week are the ARIA Awards (which falls during the next sales period too) and with her multiple nominations she could cement herself in the top spot for the remaining five weeks of 2019 and this decade.

Debuting at No.2 this week to challenge for the top spot is former No.1 artist Billie Eilish with a brand new track called “everything i wanted” (all in lower case), which has debuted at the top in Ireland, also at No.2 in New Zealand, No.3 in England and No.5 in Belgium (so far), and it becomes her eighth Top 10 single and third Top 3 placement in the two years of her charting. Last weeks highest new entry of “Roxanne” for Arizona Zervas is this week up two places to a new peak of No.3, while it also holds for a second week at No.1 in New Zealand.

After a single week at No.2 the Maroon 5 track “Memories” is back down two places to No.4, while also dropping two chart-rungs each are “Ride it” for Regard and “Circles” by Post Malone at No.5 and No.6 respectively. Lizzo is on hold at No.7 with her new U.S. Top 5 single “Good as Hell”, while we should see a rebound next week for the latest Dua Lipa track “Don’t Start Now” when she performs on the ARIA Awards this upcoming week, but for now it is down two places to No.8. Down a single place to No.9 is the Selenz Gomez song “Lose You to Love Me” and holding at its peak of No.10 for a fourth (non-consecutive) week is the third Tones and I single “Never Seen the Rain”.
