Canada’s Harry Manx has had to withdraw from the Woodford Folk Festival. Backsliders will fill his spot.

Manx has fallen ill and has been forced to stop all touring for three months.

“Harry’s decision to postpone all touring for a three month period to undergo treatment is completely understandable. We are all wishing Harry a strong recovery, and we’ll look forward to seeing him again at Woodford in the future,” said Festival Programme Manager, Mandi McIntyre.

Backsliders founder Dom Turner commented, “We’re wishing our good friend Harry a speedy recovery back to full health. It’s an honour to be asked to help out and we look forward to being back playing for Harry’s fans and all our friends at Woodford Folk Festival.”

Backsliders have been around now for 27 years. The band features Midnight Oil / The Break drummer Rob Hirst, who will also perform with The Break at the Woodford Folk Festival this year.
