Big Day Out Perth Changes Venue

Big Day Out Perth has done a last minute venue switch, moving the 2014 event to Arena Joondalup.

Arena Joondalup, it Perth’s northern suburbs, houses 30 sporting clubs, and has 2500 health and fitness members. It is also home to Western Australia’s biggest locally produced outdoor rock concert ROCK IT, which attracted 25,000 punters a year.

In a statement, Graham Partridge OAM, the Chairman of VenuesWest said, “This is one of Australia’s premier outdoor music events. After more than 150,000 festival visitors to the venue in the last 3 years it is not surprising to see one of Australia’s best brands in Australia make the move north. VenuesWest has worked hard with promoters to ensure the Arena Joondalup is the premier location for outdoor music in Western Australia.”

The Big Day Out schedule will remain the same. Only the address has changed.

Big Day Out starts in Auckland, New Zealand this Friday, January 17.

Pearl Jam will headline Big Day Out 2014 with Snoop Dogg, Beady Eye, Arcade Fire, Tame Impala, The Lumineers, Deftones, Major Lazer and Flume on the bill.
