Blink 182 Heading To Australia With or Without Travis Barker

90s skate-punks Blink 182 are planning a return to Australia in early 2013, but it is unclear whether their much lauded drummer Travis Barker will be making the trip with them.

In an interview with Red Bull’s The Red Bulletin magazine (via NME), Barker said: “I’m contemplating getting knocked out and getting on a plane to Australia. I want to overcome that eventually. My kids are scared to death to fly. I want them to witness me overcome it.”

Recently he tweeted (and since removed): “Mark and Tom will be there in Feb of next year but with a fill in drummer cause I don’t fly. Sorry brotha.”

So it looks like Blink 182 will be heading down under early next year, but we’ll probably have to wait and see whether Travis makes the trip. Could they be on a certain “big” festival that lasts for a “day” and is “out” side?

Barker’s fear of flying stems from having survived a plane crash in 2008, which killed his friend DJ AM.
