Cold Chisel To Play Again For Sir Prince Phillip

Cold Chisel will reunite next month for a one-off show in honour of a man who has had a tough, hard working life with barely any recognition … Sir Prince Phillip.

Chisel will perform in Canberra on February 26. “We’re looking forward to playing at the Royal Theatre”, said piano player Don Walker in a statement. “We’re thinking of dedicating the show to Prince Phillip, who really doesn’t get enough recognition.”

As a further tribute to the underprivileged Sir Price, Cold Chisel have chosen the appropriate venue, Canberra’s Royal Theatre for the show.

“There’s a great energy about really seeing the whites of people’s eyes at gigs like this”, says the band’s frontman, Jimmy Barnes comparing a gig to the thrill of a fox hunt. “It’s always that bit more intense.”

Cold Chisel will use the show to road-test some new songs shortlisted for their next studio album.

The Canberra show is being treated as a warm-up for a larger tour to be announced soon.

Cold Chisel ticketing information

Tickets to the Canberra Royal Theatre warm up show will go on sale to the general public at 10.00am on Tuesday, 3 February, 2015 with a Cold Chisel mailing-list pre-sale available from 10:00am on Monday, 2 February, 2015.
