Foo Fighters Start Planning Their Next Album

Dave Grohl thanks his fans on the Foo Fighters site and mentions that they’re planning their eighth album.

Grohl posted up a big thank you to all of the Foo Fighters fans on their website, and slipped in a mention that they’re already planning to start writing their eighth album.

In a blog post, Dave covers the last 18 months of writing, recording and touring Wasting Light, beaming about their number ones worldwide and their Grammy nomination.

The final paragraph is of most interest, as he marvels: “And to all of you…..we’re not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean…..If you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our 8th studio album….well…..”

After releasing Wasting Light and doing massive stadium tours of 2011, instead of milking it for another year, it looks like album number eight will come sooner than later.
