Former Guns N’ Roses manager calls Angus Young ‘a dumbass Australian little hobgoblin’

Former Guns N’ Roses manager Alan Niven has referred to AC/DC legend Angus Young as ‘a dumbass Australian little hobgoblin’.

Niven, who managed Guns N’ Roses from 1986 to 1991, is uncomfortable with Axl Rose associating himself with AC/DC’s teasing of the devil.

In an interview with Mitch Lafon for ‘Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon’ Niven said, “I’m uncomfortable with Axl performing on a stage that has a giant pair of… devil horns on it; that he sings ‘Highway to Hell,’ which I’m not sure has the humor in it that it ought to have”.

Niven explained that it was dangerous to ‘defend the devil’ as he said AC/DC do with their song lyrics and devil horn merch. “I mean – after that happens, and you’re selling glow-in-the-dark devil horns at your gigs – I’m sorry, that makes you a dumbass Australian little hobgoblin,” Niven said.
