Glen Campbell Scores Ratings Winner For CNN

Now we know how CNN can beat Fox News in the ratings. Air superb documentaries like Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me.

The film, which chronicles Campbell’s struggle with the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease and his final concert tour, brought in 2.76 million viewers to the network when it aired at 9 PM on Sunday night. That audience more than doubles the network’s previous record of 1.356 million when it showed the documentary Blackfish on October 24, 2013.

CNN 2.76 million trounced the competition with Fox News having 593,000 viewers in the same time period followed by MSNBC with 463,000.

What started as a five week farewell tour ended up lasting one-and-a-half years with 151 performances. I’ll Be Me includes appearances by Bruce Springsteen, The Edge, Paul McCartney, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Steve Martin, Chad Smith and Bill Clinton among many others.

Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me will be repeated on Friday at 9 PM on HLN and Saturday at 9 PM on CNN.
