Kate Ceberano now carried the initials AM after her name as a recipient of the Order of Australia in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours.

“I am so very proud and honoured to be receiving this award from this great Country of Australia that I love,” Kate Ceberano AM said in a statement.

At only age 49 Kate Ceberano has clocked up 35 years in the Australian music industry and 30 years recording with her first band I’m Talking releasing the ‘Bear Witness’ album in 1986.

In 2014 Kate became the first woman to be inducted into the Australian Songwriters Hall Of Fame. She was Artistic Director for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival for three years, and won series 6 of Dancing With The Stars in 2007. She has multiple ARIA Awards for Best Female Artist and is a proud Ambassador for National Breast Cancer foundation.

Speaking on 3AW this morning Kate acknowledged that her job gives her a platform to speak on other issues that can assist the community. Kate and her brother Phil Ceberano regularly perform in hospitals for patients. “Music is such a great comfort to people who are unwell,” Kate said.

Kate recently released ‘Anthology’, a three CD/53 track album covering her entire career.
