Matt Corby will perform a second show at the Woodford Folk Festival today. Corby will reveal his side-project Museum Collective.

Museum Collective also features Rohin Jones and Bree Tanter, formerly of The Middle East, as well as Lyndon de la Cruz, Kahl Wallis, Bud Rokesky and Tom Wearne.

The consortium of musicians got together for a trial run in Brisbane in September.

The Museum Collective will make their Woodford Folk Festival debut at 7pm Saturday night at the Grande stage.

Another highlight of Woodford Folk Festival tonight will be the appearance of The Break, featuring members of Midnight Oil, Violent Femmes and Hunters & Collectors. Brian Ritchie, Violent Femmes bass player, will reunite with the Femmes at the Falls Festival next week.

The Break will perform at Woodford Folk Festival tonight at 8pm.

Then at 9:30pm France’s Babylon Circus will kick off their Australian tour. After Woodford, they will also perform for So Frenchy So Chic in January.

The Woodford Folk Festival on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast kicked off its 25th year on Friday with organisers predicting a 15% growth for the event for 2013.

Woodford Folk Festival General Manager Amanda Jackes reports, “We’ve seen strong growth figures coming into this festival, which have not waned once since the release of our programme in October. It’s a great testament to our programme and to the way we’ve been engaging with patrons in the lead up”.

The Woodford Folk Festival will continue through to January 1 at Woodfordia on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
