Australia’s music community has come together as the Flood Aid Rock Legends to raise funds for Queensland flood victims.

The one-night only supergroup will Buzz Bidstrup (The Angels, Gangajang), Mark Evans (AC/DC), Kevin Borich (The Party Boys) & Tyrone Noonan (George) coming together for a once-in-a-lifetime rock experience. The legends will be joined for the special Seven-hour concert event by Aussie country royalty John Williamson and James Blundell plus party band Route 33 and Logan’s own Ruby Jo (The Voice).

“Mark Evans and I first met in London in the mid 1970’s when AC/DC toured the UK and again a few years later when I was a member of The Angels sharing Alberts studios with them,” said Buzz Bidstrup. “The Kevin Borich Express was a powerhouse of the 70’s and we first played together in the Party Boys and I’ve known Tyrone Noonan since his early days in George.
We will be featuring music from our collective careers plus a couple of surprises so we urge you to come along and support this very worthy cause to raise funds for those who have lost everything except hope.”

The family event will allocate 500 free tickets to emergency services, volunteers and flood victims, with the remaining tickets available for just $39.95 presale, children under 12 – $10, with all profits from Gate, Food and Bar donated to the flood victims’ recovery.

“I’m looking forward to performing for all the incredible community service groups and residents affected by the recent flooding of the Logan River and surrounds,” said James Blundell. “I saw the water level first hand as it was still rising around Beaudesert and Glen Eagle… unbelievable. Getting together to let off some steam and say thanks is a great idea, see you there, bring your party shoes and a designated driver.”

The event hopes to raise $75,000 for the flood victims of the recent Queensland floods.

FLOOD AID COMES TO THE LOGAN VILLAGE HOTEL BACKYARD ARENA ON SUNDAY JUNE 4 FROM 2pm – 9pm

Tickets are available from www.oztix.com.au from Thursday May 18 for $39.95 Children under 12- $10 and If available, remaining tickets will be $50 at the Gate, Children under 12 -$10.

500 FREE Tickets for the Flood Effected and Emergency Services Workers will be distributed locally by representatives of Emergency Services Organisations and The Logan Village Hotel.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
